He sees his cousins that he hasn't visited in years. Penny, caring and protective, Henrietta, strong-willed and dramatic, and Anastasia, sneaky and loose-lipped. One night, Henry finds something underneath the cracking plaster of his bedroom wall. He scrapes the crumbling plaster off until finally he finds 98 odd looking cupboards of all shapes and sizes. Henrietta finds him and insists he include her in his discoveries. They are able to open a few, but most are locked. Meanwhile, their late grandfather's room has been locked for two years, and nothing can get through into his bedroom. Not even an attempt to rip through the door with a chainsaw. Henry and Henrietta find their grandfather's journals and learn more and more about the cupboards. They find a key that can unlock their grandfather's room, and inside, they find yet another cupboard, big enough for a person to fit through.
