Planet of the Lawn Gnomes (Goosebumps Most Wanted #1)

Planet of the Lawn Gnomes (Goosebumps Most Wanted #1)

By R.L. Stine

March17, 2014 What I liked about Goosebumps Most Wanted Planet of the Lawn Gnomes By: Carter If you like scary stories and everything about scary stories, Goosebumps Most Wanted Planet of the Lawn Gnomes by R.L Stine is the book for you. What happens is Jay Gardener just moved and he keeps getting in trouble it is never his fault! In every yard is a lawn gnome. Jay hates those lawn gnomes so much. I really like that it is scary and that a black bird almost ate his dog. The last reason I like it is a lawn gnome made an M on his head. This is why you should read this book.

Camryn Augustyn 11-13-2020 MCDS 4-19 Language Arts Do you like to dance? Good, because today I am going to be talking about the book Katerina Ballerina by Tiler Peck and Kyle Harris and the illustrator of this book is Sumiti Collina. The book was written in May 2020. I thought the book was well written because it captured all the action and it made me want to keep reading and reading the book! In the story, Katerina Ballerina, Katerina is the main character. The story usually took place at home, school, or ballet. But there is a problem, Katirina’s dad was running low on money to pay for her ballet lessons. When Katirina found out about that she immediately went to town and danced to make some money to pay for her ballet lessons herself, but her dad would not let her. At her ballet there was a show where you could perform a dance that you made up on stage and Katirina decided to do it with her friend, but right before they went on stage her friend got hurt, so Katirina had to do it by herself. What will happen,........SHE WON!!! And she got to take free ballet lessons. Some things that I like most about the book were it captured all the details like what they said, did, and thought. Another thing that I like about the book was there was a problem and it went throughout the story so it made me want to keep reading it to see what would happen next. My last favorite thing about the book is I liked how the story was ordered. This paragraph is going to be my opinion of the characters in the story! The first character that I am going to be talking about is Katirina. In the story, Katrina is the main character,I thought she was a really good character in the story because she told the story really well and had good character traits. The second character is Katirina’s dad. I liked Katirina’s dad as one of the characters because he was nice to Katirina, but he was not one of my favorite characters because he did not have much to say. The next character is Katirina’s friend. Katirina’s friend is one of my favorite characters because she was a good friend and I would love to be her friend. Also the story would be very different without her in it. The last character is Katirina’s dog. The dog is one of my favorite characters because he sounded really cute and friendly in the story, even though they did not really talk about him too much I still think he is an important character. Those are some of my opinions of the characters!!! If you like to dance then this book is definitely for you and I recommend it, because it is a really good story and you will want to keep reading it to see what will happen next! If you do not like dance or are not interested in it then this book is probably not for you because it is about a girl who dances.

This book is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. It has everything a book could have!!! I wouldn't say it's for KIDS, because there is scenes that are more mature....one time, there were two people making out in the bathroom.... I say it's mostly for girls...not trying to be all steortypic, but boys really shouldn't read this...it there is jokes about periods and stuff...But it's a really good book! I love it! And I'm in 5th grade.. Kinda violent...Unless your parent are chill about what you read, you really shouldn't read this.. But great comic!!! I am inspired by it! Quite a touching ending!!! 10/10!!!

The Girl Who Could Not Dream

The Girl Who Could Not Dream

By Sarah Beth Durst

"Dreams can't die... but they can be lost... And then found again..." This heartwarming tale gives the reader an acknowledgement of celestial and magical creature found in DREAMS. (**IT MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS**) It starts off with Sophie (Betty), a non-dreamer, and a soon to be hero, soon befriends Ethan (the new kid who is "swarmed" with many friends due to his ability of playing sports) after realizing that he has nightmare, Sophie reachers out and gave him a dreamcatcher that can assuage his nightmares... BUT a horrible occurrence happened!!!!!! A gray-giraffe tried to kidnap Ethan, however Sophie and Monster saved him... Sadly they could not retrieve Lucy and Madison, who also have horrid nightmares, where Mr. Nightmare kidnapped them... Before I go any further I wanted to say Monster is a protector/pet who belongs to Sophie after she made Monster from her dream (MONSTER CAN TALK)... And yes, Sophie can have her dreams be real in actual life... Anyways Mr. Nightmare, aka Eugene, is a buyer from Sophie's parent's dream store... So now with Ethan and Monster's help, Sophie is now in a quest to look for her parents (where there number one suspect is Mr. Nightmare), but as they approached to his house... Mr. Nightmare seemed like a complete, ordinary human being. But... WRONG... he in fact stole all the monster dreams and kidnapped Sophie's parents, Lucy, and Madison... With all this imagination, Sophie soon becomes surrounded with a pegasus who poops rainbows (and loves apples) and with tons of ninja bunnies to help save the people who Sophie loves... Not to mention where they meet hideous looking monsters, where they meet Christina... Now secrets unravel like a spider's web... And now to save the people she loves may cost a sacrifice... DUN DUN DUNNNNNN... So what I loved about this book was the cliffhangers of course... Also when Ethan first meets Sophie... is just so... AHHH.... I cannot describe in words... Just YOU have to read this... Also the dry humor and irony really got to me... It's just hilarious... "Her first thought was, I'm not Betty..."... And MONSTER... he's adorable... Like I wished I had a friendly monster named Monster... Everything about this book is so creative and imaginative! To be honest... I thought it would be this cliche book... Where the hero saves the day... and it's kind of like that.... But just all the twists and turns reminds me of a roller coaster with it's unexpectedness...*cough Ms. Lee* *cough-cough* So if you can take a toll with nightmares because everything you might've dreamed of will be in this book... then this book is perfect for you! I realized this book is so similar with the movie Big Hero 6... Like seriously I can name the comparisons but I would be giving out too many spoilers... So if you like sweet, sentimental, but an adventurous story... This book is for you... Read it:D!!!!

Rise of the Dragons

Rise of the Dragons

By Angie Sage

This book was kind of mediocre. The main protagonist Sirin is so bad.Remove her from the plot and there would be no tremendous effect to the plot whatsoever. On the other hand Joss and Allie were the best characters in this book. They actually had somewhat of a personality that made you care for them. Lysander was also pretty good. The battle near the end of the book was the best part of the book.It was full of action and suspense that put me on the edge of my seat.Overall this book was okay and it wasn't absolutely horrendous.I would give this book 3 1/2 stars.

The Perfect Score

The Perfect Score

By Rob Buyea

I picked up this book because I thought that the cover was really creative and I wanted to know what the book was about. This book is told in five different perspectives, so it can sometimes get confusing, but the author wrote it very well. Since there are so many perspectives you can really see how the characters change and develop throughout the book because you read about what everyone thinks about themselves but also how they see others, which makes the book very engaging. These five characters are all in the same class for 6th grade, epic gymnast Randi, football-crazy Gavin, bully on the outside Trevor, always the optimist Scott, and future lawyer Natalie. They might seem like a mismatched group of kids, but they have much in common and many potential things that could bring them closer together, in this case, the dreaded statewide assessment test. It feels like test practice is taking away all the things that these kids look forward most in school, recess, read-alouds, and even after-school programs. The kids realize that if they are going to prove how unjust the test is, then they will have to work together. Told in the perspectives of five seemingly opposite kids, this book will keep you engaged and wondering what crazy scheme will happen next. This relatable book is great for middle shoolers who like realistic humor.
