Louisiana's Way Home
By Kate DiCamillo
Louisiana climbs into a car like a heap of depression. Tears falling from her eyes. Her Granny is taking her somewhere where she finds hard secrets, and new friendships. Although she misses her friends Raymie Clarke and Beverly dearly, she must find a way where she can go without them. Another great read my Kate, and you must take the task to read this incredible book, ending with an ending that may effect people differently. Read to find out.

Big Nate On a Roll is a book about Nate wanting to win a skateboard because he lost his skateboard. He wants to win a new skateboard by selling wall hangings. Arthur also wants to win that skateboard. I enjoyed this book because it’s funny and it’s something you would want to read more then once. I’ve read this book at least 50 times. The recommended reading level is 3rd-5th grade is the to Scholastic.com. I would suggest this for guys and girls at the age of 8-10 would love this book ,and Lincoln Peirce’s Big Nate series.

The Assassination of Brangwain Spurge
By M.T. Anderson, Eugene Yelchin
This book is not what I originally expected. For one thing, the goblins aren't evil. Okay, fine, maybe a tiny bit. But it's not like they would kill you.... unless you insulted them. So yeah, they are kinda evil. But not as evil as I expected. Another thing, the elves are basically Victorian, except, well, more barbaric. (there's this whole chopping-fingers-off thing with the king and one of his subjects) So basically, neither side is all that great. Add in the fact that there has recently been a goblin-elf war, and a bunch of people were killed, and you get a LOT of prejudices. Both sides think the other is totally evil. So when Brangwain Spurge is sent to bring a gem to the goblin king, things do NOT go smoothly. Then Spurge goes spying, and is caught. Spurge finds himself running away with his former enemy, whose life he has just ruined.
Calix and the Three Wicked Lizards
By Kondos, Carolyn
What a magical story that I think kids will really enjoy! I have read many children's books that are centered around the number 3 and basic retellings of classic fairy tales. Carolyn seems to be doing just that by pulling in elements from stories like Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs, and maybe others that I'm just not recognizing! I really enjoyed reading this book! I especially loved the part where the lizards were meant to help Calix by competing in an eating contest! I’m sure kids will get a kick out of it. I won't give away too many details for others who would like to read it, but I hope others see the value in this story too. It can be a great teaching tool for kids, like understanding patience and perseverance in a difficult situation. I also love that the author is doing this to encourage her own children to follow their dreams and teaching them that they are capable of doing anything they set their minds too.
Goosebumps Wanted: The Haunted Mask
By R.L. Stine
Goosebumps the Haunted Mask by R.L Stine is a horror novel that follows a girl named Carly that gets scared by everyone but now wants to be the one to scare people so she buys a haunted mask that comes with some unknown side effects. This novel is about learning how to just accept who you are as a person. This novel did a great job at showing the true horror of a haunted mask and it had some great twists too. I would recommend this book as a 4 out of 5 stars.
Spy Ski School (Spy School)
By Stuart Gibbs
Awesome mystery and suspense as usual in the Spy School series. Thumbs up to Stuart Gibbs for that. The whole plot and story line plus the character’s traits made me laugh from start to end. Ben is really smart with numbers but is totally rubbish at fighting (no offense, Ben!) and Erica is beautiful, and amazingly athletic and knows pretty much every sport, except... skiing? The CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) usually sends Ben, Erica and the gang to exciting yet life risking adventures to defeat SPYDER, an evil organization that always has a master plan to take over the world and blame it on someone else. But this time, they’re targeting a Chinese billionaire named Leo Shang. The objective is to get close to Jessica Shang, Leo’s daughter. Ben is friendly so if he becomes friends with Jessica, he may become closer to finding out Leo’s plan to... cause destruction. But everything goes wrong when Mike’s best friend who is CONVINCED that Ben is a normal human but catches him acting very weirdly... almost like an agent? I’m not gonna say any more though, read Spy Ski School if you want to find out more!
