Magna Carta
By C. Walter Hodges
Heres narration about it: Tell in detail the circumstances surrounding the Magna Charta and why it is considered a significant historic document. The Magna Charta was made because a kind king came to rule and wanted to make the laws more fair for the people, because the rich people were making everything better for themselves, instead of helping the common people. The king wanted to make things better for the poorer population, so he made up a bill of rights, a list of the laws that would help everyone, not just the owners of vast, rich estates. The bill of rights he came up with is called ‘The Magna Charta’, meaning ‘The great charter of liberties’. It was greatly popular with the people, and everybody obeyed it. This helped everyone in the King’s realm.
World War II Plus 75 -- The Road to War (World War II Plus 75 -- A Day-by-Day History Book 1)
By David H Lippman
When you first look at this, you will probably think "Hitler? Eh, who cares" and move on. But really, this book is very imformative and interesting. It shows Hitlers and the Nazi's point of World War 2, (not that I like Hitler OR the Nazi) but because I really like looking at everyones point of view before judging. I didn't know a lot about Hitler until I researched him, because nobody really focuses on him, but it was actually pretty cool. Good book for history. I liked it, because it was GREAT.
