This book is about war and how a soldier and a dog are super great and the best partners ever. The dog and the soldier go a cross the world having wars but when they are together they can not be stopped. I made a connection with this book because my older brother read this and recommended it to me. If you like dogs you will definitely love this book because a dog is a hero. I gave this book a five star because it has so much good and loving moments you might even cry about it.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Step-up adventures)

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Step-up adventures)

By Judith Conaway

I gave this book a 4 star rating because it caught my attention. This book is about the story of three accidental visitors to an underwater world hosted by the mysterious Captain Nemo. From their arrival on board the Nautilus, the scholarly Professor Aronnax, loyal Conseil, and adventurous Ned Land are torn between exploring the new wonders of their surroundings and finding a way to escape. They originally went to Nautilus to find out what species of undiscovered whale has been damaging world shipping. However, far from encountering a whale that has wrecked world shipping, they soon find themselves on the iron plating of a new kind of vessel, a submarine. Read this book to find out more. I made a connection with this book because I saw the front cover had the tentacles and the tentacles were wrapped around the ship and the ship looked like it was sinking.

So Far From Home: The Diary of Mary Driscoll, An Irish Mill Girl, Lowell, Massachusetts 1847 (Dear America Series)

So Far From Home: The Diary of Mary Driscoll, An Irish Mill Girl, Lowell, Massachusetts 1847 (Dear America Series)

By Barry Denenberg

I've never been a real big fan of history but, when I started to read this series in 3rd grade the book made me sad and feel as if I was in the story. It made me feel so many emotions and I started to read this series 3 years later- [now] -and I just can't stop reading them. I had just finished this book before we started to watch the Superbowl. I cried out when the book ended 'cause I loved it so much~! This one is about a girl who lives in Ireland. Her Aunt went to America one day and said she would bring the girl with her at one point. The way her Aunt described American made the girl ever so excited. In Ireland food was getting scarce and people were getting sick and such. When the girl [years later] was leaving for the boat she wished her parents a sad goodbye and got on the boat to set off for America. On the boat, it took such a long time to get to America. Sadly, some tragic things happened. It was alright though. In America, the girl lived with her Aunt and had much better living conditions. She also made some friends. But work was a bit harsh. Some more tragic things happen. In the end, the girl left for important reasons and it was ever so sad. It was a great book though and I highly suggest that you read. Also, you would probably like it if you like history and such.

Sink or Swim: A Novel of WWII

Sink or Swim: A Novel of WWII

By Steve Watkins

Sink or Swim by Steve Watkins is a great book about WW ll. Colton, the main character, enrolls in the Navy in his older brother, Danny's, place. He goes through many events that no thirteen year old should ever have to go through. He meets some other guys named Straub and Woody who later all become friends. They help each other out in any time of danger. Together they had to face U-boat attacks, storms at sea, and before all that, Navy boot camp. If you are a person who is interested in war books and you like books that can have sadness, fear, anger and other mixes of emotions, then I would definitely recommend this book to you.

The Missing Collection: Found; Sent; Sabotaged; Torn; Caught

The Missing Collection: Found; Sent; Sabotaged; Torn; Caught

By Margaret Peterson Haddix, Mike Heath

I gave this book 5 stars because it was really interesting and I connected to it really well. This is what the story was about a kid and he's 13 years old and discovers he's one of the missing and keeps getting these letters. They figure out some were identified in the passed. I connected to the book by when I don't be that patient and try to hurry to get things done.
