By Dan Gutman
Rachel
This book is a funny quick book and good to take after reading a really long book.
Before We Were Free
By Julia Alvarez
JoJo
Julia Alvarez, the author of Before we were Free takes readers back in time to the 60s in Dominican Republic. The setting is in the Dominican Republic in 1960. Some of the main characters are Anita, Carla, Mami, Papi and Tio Toni. Some of the plot is the SIM invades Anita’s house. Julia’s writing style is in first person. I don’t like it because it was hard to follow who was who. She makes it confusing on whether Chucha is a human or a pet. It also does not feel like you are in Dominican Republic in the 1960’s. Julia’s writing style is in first person. I don’t like it because it was hard to follow who was who. She makes it confusing on whether Chucha is a human or a pet. It also does not feel like you are in Dominican Republic in the 1960’s. ¨It turns out that the SIM discovered the plot and most of our uncle´s friends were arrested¨ Before we were Free was a boring book. I was long and had to many spanish words. If you like action adventure or fantasy than this book is not for you. If you like books about social issues than this book is for you. Before we were free was given the Pura Belpre Award. Julia grew up in the Dominican Republic.

Tom Gates: Genius Ideas (Mostly)
By L Pichon
This book is quite funny. You should read it. The boy in the book loves wafers and knows how to do wafer balancing. My favorite part is when Delia's hair looks terrible because I find it funny. I think kids of the age 6 - 12 must read this book.
Giraffe Problems
By Jory John
This book was really good. I liked the giraffe a lot, even if he didn't like his neck. I'm glad he made a friend at the end of the book.
DK Readers L1: The LEGO Movie: Meet Unikitty!
By Shari Last
Unikitty is a great friend. She is a great Lego character. I really liked her in the Lego movie. This book did a good job explaining who Unikitty is.
Radiance: A Riley Bloom Book
By Alyson Noël
my friend reiley (lol she has the same name, different spelling as the main character) recommended this series to me when i was eight, and i was captivated by the radiance (HAHA A PUN!! but a really bad one) of this series. it's actually decently interesting because you get to see how heaven is envisioned according to the author. recommended for girls, mostly (but boys don't let this review stop you from reading the riley bloom series), if you like books with an intriguing romance and a slow-moving plot.
The Littlest Bigfoot

Alice has always known she was different, but she didn't know why. She was bigger than the other kids, and had a ton of orange brown curly hair she called The Mane. The other kids had never accepted her, not even her parents had. She went from school to school, trying to find 'her people' as her grandma said. Finally her parents sent her to The Experimental Center for Love and Learning. Everyone there was weird and different, and everyone was polite to her, until a girl named Jessica comes. She pretends to be Alice's friend just so she can humiliate her. Alice becomes friends with Millie, a Bigfoot. Can Alice save Millie's tribe when people start hunting them?
