Firestar's Quest (Warriors Super Edition)
By Erin Hunter
This book was the first Erin hunter book I read. I didn't know anything at that time. I started in Fourth grade. Did you know that Erin Hunter is 4 people? If you don't believe me, then go to www.warriorcats.com/ and click on about the author.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (picture book edition) (Narnia)
By C. S. Lewis, Hiawyn Oram
I recommend this book to people who love fantasy and fiction. What I loved about this book is that it had tons of figurative language, which made me feel like I was there with the characters . I like that in a book. If you wanna read this book, do it!
Zebra Forest
By Adina Rishe Gewirtz
I rate this book as fair since I enjoy reading the details the author writes to describe everything. I can feel as if I am in the book, experiencing everything with all the characters. She makes me have reactions and predictions to the book, especially in the end of chapter 34. Chapter 34 is when Rew runs away from their house, into the “Zebra”, the forest their house is surrounded in. Annie, her grandmother, and Snow chase after Rew during the night, and during a thunderstorm. Annie returns first, and when she sees Rew, Snow, and her grandmother return, page 182 makes me strongly react in a certain way. Page 182 says, “...Andrew Snow...I saw him, dirty and grim. He was carrying Gran.” When I read this, I have to read it over since it makes me scared. Before I read on, I thought that a tragic event happened to Gran. I also appreciate that the protagonist, Annie, has a younger brother named Rew, who has a unique personality, but I don’t appreciate the way Annie emotionally reacts to events. When Andrew Snow, Annie’s dad who lived in jail escaped from jail, held Annie, Rew, and their guardian, their grandmother, hostage in their own house, Rew reacts as most children would do. He reacts violently and angrily since nobody is telling the police about Snow’s escape from jail. Annie doesn’t do anything, even when Rew makes a letter and asks her to put it in the mailbox when Snow allows her to leave the house. Annie hides the letter and lies to Rew instead since she doesn’t want Snow to go. Annie thinks that Snow was a trustworthy person to be around, but Rew is smarter and knows that he can be dangerous, since the reason that he was sent to jail was that he killed a person. Annie’s grandmother doesn’t do anything either, but for an acceptable reason. She doesn’t want to hear Snow talk to her since she’s disappointed in her son, and Snow keeps trying to ask her questions that she doesn’t want to answer. I partially admire Gran’s personality, while partially disliking it. My favorite thing that I admire about her is that even though she’s experienced at taking care of Annie and Rew, she also can care for herself. When Snow holds her family hostage, she doesn’t talk to anybody, leaving Annie and Rew to take care of themselves. I think that it’s smart to sometimes help yourself first since Gran works hard to take care of Annie and Rew, and can use a break. Gran hides in her room for a long time so Snow doesn’t bother her, which teaches Annie and Rew how to be responsible during these types of situations. My least favorite thing about Gran is that she lies frequently, has a large amount of practice, and uses it to protect information that can should be shared. For example, before Snow came, Gran tells Annie and Rew that their father was killed by an angry man who was sent to jail. It was actually the opposite. Their father killed an angry man and was sent to jail. I believe that Annie and Rew can handle knowing about this since they deserve to know about their own father. Also, when Snow first came to hide in their house, Rew thought that Gran was lying and became extremely violent and angry, since he didn’t believe that Snow was his father at first.
Heck: Where the Bad Kids Go
By Dale E. Basye
One day, 11-year old Milton Fauster and his 13-year old sister Marlo are in the Grizzly Mall of Generica, Kansas. They go into a store where Marlo shoplifts some lip gloss, which she surreptitiously stashes in Milton's backpack without his knowledge. A mall security officer spots this, and tries to accost the two. As Marlo and Milton are running through the mall with the security guard chasing them, Milton realizes Marlo tricked him into being an accomplice. Pausing for a moment in front of a giant marshmallow statue of a Grizzly Bear, and Milton spots Damian Ruffino, his extremely unhygienic tormentor, school bully, and all -around delinquent, sticking dynamite in the marshmallow grizzly's behind. Before the mall security guards can catch up with them, the marshmallow grizzly bear explodes prematurely, and Milton, Marlo, and Damian all die. The last thing they see is flaming marshmallow all over the mall. The next thing they know, Milton and Marlo are holding hands and plummeting downward and Milton feels a slight sting. When he and Marlo land, they find themselves in Limbo, the waiting area for the Nine Circles of Heck, which include Rapacia, Blimpo, Fibble, Snivel, Precocia, Lipptor (Wise Acres), Sadia, and Dupli-City. Because of her sins (e.g., the shoplifting) Marlo has been sent to a sort of "lite" version of Hell reserved for bad kids, called "Heck"; Milton, apparently, has been judged guilty by association and sent there with his sister. Processed through the afterlife's terrible bureaucracy, Marlo and Milton are conveyed to a nightmare of a school in Heck, presided over by principal Bea "Elsa" Bubb, who torments her charges with pretty much the worse things they can imagine in a school. Milton and Marlo are separated and Milton meets Virgil, who befriends him, and the two plot an escape from heck and return to Earth and the land of the living. But Damien, who has been bad enough that he has started to rise in the hierarchy of Heck, is sent after them and foils their plans, landing them back in Heck. Marlo, meanwhile, has been causing her own brand of chaos by organizing a resistance among the girls in the heckish school, causing Principal Bubb to decide that the Fauster siblings are problem children. She decides to deal with them by sending them to the next lower circle of Heck: Rapacia.

The Land of Forgotten Girls
By Erin Entrada Kelly
Soledad “Sol” Madrid has gotten through twelve whole years of her life using imagination. Sometimes she imagines herself in a rocket ship, or living in a gigantic mansion, or inside a fairy tale. But none of that is actually true for her. In reality, her mother and one of her sisters are dead, and she lives with her stepmother because her father went to the Philippines a few years ago. He hasn’t come back, and Sol often dreams of running away from their home in Louisiana with her younger sister Ming. But when Ming starts to believe a story Sol told her, about their make-believe aunt who lives in the jungle, everything gets messed up. How will Sol convince her sister to believe the truth? Read this book to find out! Once again, author Erin Entrada Kelly creates a heartfelt, witty, and creative novel that readers will love. The Land of Forgotten Girls is an unforgettable book, and I rate it 4/5 stars.
Persephone the Daring (Goddess Girls)

The new mortal boy Orpheus has swept the entire girl population in Mount Olympus Academy off their feet! With a clear, lovely voice and beautiful lyre-playing skills, Orpheus looks and sounds the part of a heartbreaker popstar. He's one of the top rising musicians on Olympus, but after a freak accident, his girlfriend Eurydice is suddenly taken into the Underworld. Heartbroken, Orpheus loses all motivation. He knows that once you go into the Underworld, you never come out. Persephone's dating Hades, and, seeing Orpheus so dismal, she tries to help Orpheus lead Eurydice out of the Underworld. But can helping another romantic relationship break her own? Fast-paced and fun, this is one of my favorite Goddess Girls books in the series!
Heather: The Violet Fairy (Rainbow Magic: The Rainbow Fairies, No. 7)
By Daisy;Copyright Paperback Colle Meadows
I have been reading this book out loud to my little sister. At first I thought that this book would be boring, but I was pleasantly surprised! This book actually has a pretty good plot. It mentions how Rachel and Kristy are trying to find the last rainbow fairy, Heather. It is actually a pretty good book and I would recommend it for ages 4-7. The only thing that I did not like about this book is that it sort of requires you to have previous knowledge of the series or to have read the first few books. Since there is over a 100 books in this series it is hard to read them in order. Overall, I would recommend this book to younger children. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. If you liked this book, I think you should look at the other rainbow fairy books (there are a lot!) and the Nancy Drew and The Clue Crew series. That is also a good book for ages 4-7. Hope you like this book! Happy Reading!
