Can You Keep a Secret?: A Fear Street Novel
By R. L. Stine
Smiley
This is one of R.L.Stine's best fear street books. It has thrills, chills, betrayal, temptation, and fear. Some parts of this book have blood so I would recommend this book for 7 and 8th graders. It is a creepy must-read book that teenagers will enjoy.

Going Solo
By Roald DAHL
This book is about Roald Dahl journey to Africa as a worker for Shell and him joining the war and serving as a pilot. It starts off in 1938, he is a worker for shell and he's sailing on a ship called SS Mantola to Africa. On the way he sees some strange, funny things going on. When he gets to Dar es Salaam, the city they're going to, he thinks that it's a very nice looking place. There was a lot of wildlife there, he saw many elephants, hippos, zebras, and antelopes there. The only animal he didn't like was snakes, he hated them a lot, especially the black mamba, one bite from one of those snakes and you will die. One time he was shaving in the bathroom, and he looked out the window and saw his shamba-boy, Salimu raking, and then he saw a black mamba coming right at him, and if he hadn't warned him about the snake behind him, he wouldn't been bitten and died. When he was in the military serving as a pilot, his airplane crashed once and he suffered injuries that would affect him for the rest of his life. This book has many adventures from his journey, it is a very interesting book and I would recommend this book to anyone looking or a good non-fiction book to read.
Wonkenstein (The Creature from My Closet, No. 1)
By Obert Skye
This is the first book to the most HILARIOUS series I've ever read! 12-year-old Robert Columbo Burnside experimented with ordinary house items in his door-less closet, making it a big MESS. And when his mother gave him tons and tons of books to read, well, he just threw them into the chaos of a closet. Rob's dad came home with a weirdly shaped door and fitted it on his closet (where it stayed), proclaiming it looked just right. The door has an EMBARRASSING unicorn sticker on it that just would not come off, and a doorknob with a face that Rob named Beardy. But lo and behold, Beardy locked Rob out of his closet! When Rob finally gets back in, he discovers a little creature that was a, shall I say, interesting cross between Willy Wonka and Frankenstein. Rob stumbles into an adventure led by little Wonk, who grows his toes and is always ready to pull a prank. If there was anything Rob learned, it's that books aren't always what they seem! --BKS reviews
The School for Good and Evil #2: A World without Princes
By Soman Chainani
First of all I want to say thank you. Second of all I want to say it was very exciting, adventurous, and it fits right next to the School of Good and Evil #1 book. I recommend you to read the first book first and then read it so it'll make more sense. It starts off with Sophie and Agatha planning the musical, and Sophie is frustrated. Later Agatha finds out that Sophie's is in danger... by the boys... yes the princes I mean. But before that Agatha made a wish for Tedros. Agatha and Sophie has to find a way out of their trouble by the princes ... or else... DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNN. The princes want Sophie dead or alive since in the first book Agatha chose Sophie instead of Tedros (that's why you should read the first book first, then the second so it'll make more sense). Agatha's choice made a big uproar, and all the girls or princesses no longer cared for the princes. With teamwork and a bit of friendship, do yo think they can solve their conflict? It's up to you to read and find out. So I recommend you to READ IT, I don't know which book was better the first or second book, but it was definitely an adventurous page turner.
After Ever After
By Jordan Sonnenblick
I would definitely recommend this book to the funny yet serious people. This book is a bout Jeffery an 8th grade student who is a cancer survivor,Tad, Jeffery's friend, who hasn't been qualified as a cancer survivor yet. Jeffery has girl problems with Lindsey, a Cali girl. Tad keeps it a secret from Jeffery that he needs a bone marrow transplant. Tad's sister,Yvonne has to donate her bone marrow. Jeffery rides his bike for Tad to raise money. Tad dies while Jeffery is riding. He dies at 10:32 a.m.. Jeffery talks to Tad at his grave at the end. But you have to read the book to get the real effect.
The Third Mushroom
By Jennifer L. Holm
This story is the sequel of The Fourteenth Goldfish and when Ellie's grandpa Melvin returns still young in the form of a 14 year old boy. He is a big eater and scientist that has two PHDs and is like really smart. He has to go to school as a 14 year old boy and then enters the science fair with Ellie and they learn that some experiments change the world or some are epic fails but, either way you learn something, something important.
Cloaked in Red
By Vivian Vande Velde
If you think the story of little red riding hood is ridiculous, I recommend this book. Even if you don't, it's still amusing and pretty funny to read about all the different ways the author thinks it could have gone down. I recommend this book for kids 10-16 depending on your interests. Make sure you read the authors notes at the very beginning because it's hilarious, and it explains why she rewrote the story multiple times in more realistic, but funny ways.
