Kids Books - Fantasy

Kids read books for enjoyment, but Rowan of Rin is the complete opposite of this. Rowan of Rin is a book that Emily Rodda created for middle school children to enjoy, but she struggles. After reading this you will see why. Firstly, Rowan of Rin has too many characters. All of them are technically talking at the same time. This is so confusing. When I was reading, this book, I was so confused with who is talking. So this means there are too many characters. Next, this book is based on a dragon and it’s even on the front cover, but it’s hardly in the book. The dragon comes and goes. You won’t even realise that there’s a dragon in the book. Lastly, oveusly you will know that Rowan saves his village, there’s no surprise. It says it on the front cover. My teacher even said “Rowan hasent deffeted the dragon yet” he knows what’s going to happen. As you can see Rowan of Rin is bad. It has too many characters, there’s not much of a dragon and there’s no surprise. So don’t wast your wonderful time reading this, go find some other cool book.

This is the last book of the series that i fell in love with, and it's also the best one. The answers from Sebastian are all answered and everything became so clear. Jace, Clary, Isabelle, and Alec all came together and formed a little clan to fight Sebastian. This book is full of excitement, but also sadness due to the heartbreaking moments. My favotire character is now Alec because he is Jace's parabatai (bonded friendship), they were so close together, and it's really amazing to see how they would safrifice themselves for each other. It also made me realize who my parabatai in real life is. The most exciting and unbielieveable part in this book is it's ending. I might have guessed the ending but it wasn't what i expected. It might have been the saddest happy ending ever. At last, I would of course recommend this book/series to people who love books that involes supernatural creatures and adventures so exciting.

Around the time of their parents’ divorce, sisters April, May, and June recover special powers from childhood, powers that can help in high school. April can see the future. May can disappear. June can read minds. Soon they realize, powers or no powers, they’ll always have each other.

I just began this book so far she has lost her family! I really want to finish it one cause I think it is really good second I want to rad more boos. enjoy reading so much and books .

Nate Harlow has very bad luck, but his friend, Genesis Beam, who is the probably the smartest person in Paradise Beach, doesn't believe in bad luck. But one day, when they were at a mini-golf course, Nate gets struck by lightning, but not entirely. His rod got struck, and it electricuted him. After that, he had a scar on his arm that said LY as in... lucky? And after that he was indeed very lucky. He no longer wanted to hang with his braniac friend, Genesis, and instead, played baseball, which he used to be terrible at. Soon, ppl started hating on Nate for his luckiness, winning everything, and he was getting vandalized. He suddenly didn't enjoy being lucky, and wanted things to be the way they used to be. But when a hurricane hits the island and he doesn't find Genesis, he goes out into the storm to search for her, and he finds her gathering the sea turtles eggs. They both get struck my lightning, this time, Genesis, a direct hit, and Nate, a half-hit... like last time. Very soon, he is back to normal, and the scars from the last strike are gone! But Genesis is another mess... and u'll hafta read the rest :)

The Dark Knight Returns is set in a dystopian near-future version of Gotham City. Bruce Wayne, at 55, has retired from crime-fighting for ten years after the death of Jason Todd.Wayne has a breakdown and assumes the role of Batman again. He first confronts Harvey Dent, who was thought to be cured after therapy and plastic surgery (which Wayne financed). Dent holds the city for ransom with a bomb. When Batman defeats Dent, he realizes that, despite his repaired appearance, Dent's mind is now entirely "Two-Face".Batman saves 13-year-old Carrie Kelley from an attack by a gang called the Mutants. Kelley buys herself an imitation Robin costume and searches for Batman, seeking to help him. The rest is for you to read with the book.

It's SOOOOOOOO awesome I wish it was more to the story but sadly its not. I really recommend it if you can buy it or you already have it its so addicting. R.L. Stine is just the best author for the horror genre and hes the best director i even binge watched his goosebumps show in the mid 1990's

Oh. My. God. I didn't read this series since last year, because over the summer I was too busy playing. :/ but now I remembered..... it was the best book EVER. This book was mostly about the Heap Family. They had a/the seventh son of the seventh son, which makes him really powerful. I'll give spoilers at the end. :D I sorta forgot what the book was about, so I'll give away Spoilers now. OK, DON'T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT A SPOILER! So, Boy 19 (or whatever it is) is Septimus Heap, not that Darke apprentice. Oh, and Jenna is the Princess (you should already know that) and a spoiler from the next book: Simon becomes evil, and runs away. I won't give anymore spoilers now.

The book I read was Crossing the Wire, by:Will Hobbs. This book is about a boy from Mexico named Victor Flores. He makes a living for his family from selling corn at a farm after his father died. His friend Rico crosses the border to America to start a new life. Victor asks his mom if he may go to "el Norte" to earn money. His mother agrees but it's not as easy as he thinks. Victor goes through many problems and hardships along the way. He meets three people who lead him to America. He goes through sewers, tricksters, border patrol, jail, gunfights, snake bites, desert heat and much more. He fails many times but finally crosses the border. My opinion of this book is great. I really enjoyed this book because the story moves right along. It's has great suspense and surprises. I also liked it because of the dialogue and Will Hobbs makes each person difference not only with accent but with personality and emotion. He developed the characters very well. This books genre is realistic fiction for many reasons. First of all these events can happen to anyone it has no supernatural or fantasy characters. Also it is describing an real issue that today is very common about crossing the border. The setting is realistic it's not in a whole different world. I think a person who would like this book would be a person who likes current events and lots of different characters. This book is based on many events that are very high debated today. Also this book has a lot of different people from Americans to police and Mexicans. You get to know a lot of new people. Victor has a lot of man v. self conflict in this book. He has a lot of thoughts because of the mistakes he's made he needs to think any decision through which can require a lot of debating with himself. Also, another type of conflict is man v. man. Since Victor has to fight with police officers, friends, drivers and family. He has a lot of conflicts person to person with people he meets.

To my disappointment, Glass Sword did not live up to my expectations at all. Its predecessor, Red Queen, was enthralling and left my vying for more, but this is not the sequel for me. First of all, most of the beginning and middle of the book consists of Mare wrangling with her emotions. She doesn't do much except for think about things like "Oh, I wonder how Cal's shaping up," and "How do I betray Maven," even though she literally does nothing half of the time. Also, as Mare and the other Reds venture through the kingdom, the book has a knack of going into long descriptions about their surroundings - which might seem essential, but it's a real drag. Most of the time, Mare is indecisive, reckless, and completely over her head. It makes me really uncomfortable even to read the story from her perspective. And the ending could rival even that of the first book, but by that time, it was too late; I was bored out of my mind. It took a lot out of me even to make it to the end, so dreadful was the writing. All in all, if you want to read about a protagonist stuck in her head most of the time, barely any humor, rather badly-developed characters (Kilorn was the worst; reading his character pained me physically), and you don't mind slow-paced writing, then go ahead and read this. But Glass Sword personally disappointed me and eradicated any prospects of reading King's Cage. Victoria, I love you, but you've plateaued!
