This book is by FAR the best book I have read in my life. I could not even put the book down as it was so interesting to read! It's about a 12 year old girl (Nisha) who's Dad is Hindu and Mom is Muslim. It's set in the partitioning of India. Now since where they live is called "Pakistan" they have to move to their new home. you must read this book! It's truly amazing. I recommend this book for Grade 5-8.

A Dash of Magic (Bliss Bakery Trilogy)
By Kathryn Littlewood
I really like this book a lot because there is a lot of description about what all the new characters look like. Evil Aunt Lily LaFey, is the beautiful, but evil aunt of Rosemary, Thyme, Parsley, and Sage Bliss. They think their aunt is harmful, but she is the opposite. Their evil aunt steals the special family Bliss Cookery Book. So Rose will do whatever she can do to stop her aunt. Rose challenges to a baking contest and will do anything she can to win! Her family depends on her to win the contest.
Deep Zone (Football Genius)
By Tim Green
Deep Zone is a book about a kid named Ty who is the protagonist of the the book. Ty's brother is a major football star for the New York Jets. Ty is following in his brother’s footsteps and is a star WR for his school team. So everything goes fine for Ty until his brother Thane hurts his knee. Suddenly everything starts to go wrong. Ty finds out that his uncle is coming back into town for a news report. Ty's uncle is in trouble with the mafia because of a stunt he pulled that got two members arrested. But now there is two more members that are the antagonists wanting to hurt Ty's uncle. But the only way they'll find his uncle is by going to Ty. So since Ty's brother is in the hospital that means Ty is home all alone. But when Ty hears a noise one night and calls his brother suddenly there's an FBI agent at his house. Then Ty thinks about another thing he has to worry about. A six in six football tournament! So while Ty is worrying about the mafia he has to try out for a team that will be playing at halftime on Super Bowl Sunday! I liked this book because it is about a kid that plays football and it is written well.
Football Hero (Football Genius)
By Tim Green
I decided to read this book because it looked like an interesting book, of course after I read the back. The book is about this young boy name Ty, who gets into some "business" with gambling. Ty is telling his uncle's gambling boss, Lucy, about the injuries on the Jets. Every Friday Ty goes with his older brother Thane "Tiger" Lewis, to dinner. He asks about the injuries for his "Fantasy Football Team", but its really for Lucy. Football Hero is an awesome book, so you might want to read it to find out the ending, which I didn't say.
Primer
By Thomas Krajewski, Jennifer Muro
This was total perfection! It was funny, it was cute, it was completely and utterly unique. The emotions portrayed weren't hyperbolic or superficial like they usually are when it comes to DC graphic novels. The graphic novel's only downfall was how short it was, but even then it managed very well. It built up perfectly to a climactic fight and a cliffhanger ending that left me wanting more. The art was simply sublime. Absolutely beautiful. But I knew it would be. And the protagonist Ashley was just a breath of fresh air! The art was great, reminiscent of a cartoon with bright colors that popped. Ashley was extremely likable, cracking tons of jokes as she fights crime. Kids are going to absolutely love this. I enjoyed it quite a bit too. I can't wait to see what else Primer gets up to, I would absolutely love to see her make the transition to full-blown DC comics character! I'm not sure if that'll ever come about but there definitely seems to be plans for a sequel if that ending was anything to go by...
Patron Saints of Nothing
By Randy Ribay
Great book about the drug war in the Philippines! This book is about Jay, a 17 year old boy who's about to go to college, but there's some unexpected that happens to him near his spring break-his cousin who lives in the Philippines, Jun (who's also his pen pal), has been murdered because of the president's drug war. Determined to find more about what happened, he travels to the Philippines for a week. There was 1 minor issue with this book. I think that Jay was acting pretty privileged and like he knew everything that was happening around him throughout the beginning and the middle, however he was a good character when the book was coming to an end. 4.5 stars rounded up!
Just as Long as We're Together
By Judy Blume
This was a great book about three best friends who are starting their first year of junior high together. They go through some tough times and they always have each other's back. This was a great book to read and I would totally recommend it for girls ages 11-13.
Jessi's Wish (Bsc C.E. #48)
By Ann M. Martin
THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD!!! Ann M. Martin does a wonderful job of shaping the wonderful character of Danielle, a little girl with cancer whose only dream is to go to Disney World and graduate from elementary school. I thought this book was heartwarming, sort of sad, but also inspiring to be thankful for everything I have! Jessi and the other girls in the BSC are planning on taking a break from babysitting and are going to volunteer at different places. While Stacey volunteers her time at a diabetes lab and Kristy gives back to her little brother's old daycare, Jessi decides to volunteer at the club her little sister is in, The Kids Can Do Anything Club. While there, Jessi meets Danielle, a little girl with leukemia (cancer). She is special and Jessi and her immediately hit it off.
