Science Comics: Bats: Learning to Fly

Science Comics: Bats: Learning to Fly

By Falynn Koch

Bats are really interesting creatures. I learned so many cool facts about them in this book. It was also a comic book which is the best!

Secret Origins (Story Thieves)

Secret Origins (Story Thieves)

By James Riley

It is incredible. The book has major plot twists and is a great continuation to the first 2, but the book lacks closure and doesn't tie up loose ends. It makes sense since it is in the series, but I wish it would give some sort of ending for at least one of the characters. I will still give it 2 stars since the Jupiter City comic book makes up for the lack of closure and the dad is super cool!

Taming the Star Runner (Cascades)

Taming the Star Runner (Cascades)

By S.E. Hinton

I had high hopes for this book after reading Hinton's The Outsiders, while it didn't meet my expectations, it was still a good read. Taming The Star Runner follows Travis Harris, a hardened, popular city boy from Tulsa- with a soft spot for writing, but when he comes home to find his abusive stepfather cramming his writing in the fireplace, the hot-tempered Travis knows that he has gone too far, and attacks him. Later, when released from Juvie, he is placed in the custody of his Uncle Ken, who lives in the outskirts of rural Tulsa, longing for his home, Travis hates life in the country, laughed at and ignored for his tough attitude and looks, he is alone- his personality that was revered in his home town has become his downfall. When he is introduced to Casey, one of the riding instructors at ken's ranch he is facinated- bolder and braver than any girl he's known and intent on taming the Star Runner, the wildest, meanest, and most striking horse in the barn.

Killer Pizza: The Slice

Killer Pizza: The Slice

By Greg Taylor

I really loved this book. It was an exciting read. There were some parts that were funny and there were some parts that seemed more serious. I think this book is a good read for middle school students.

The Secrets of Winterhouse

The Secrets of Winterhouse

By Ben Guterson

This book is the sequel to Winterhouse, not only consisting of similar elements to the first book, I believe it is almost as good. Elisabeth is back at Winterhouse, this time, for good. After reuniting with Freddy, and finding out his parents did not come that time like they said they would, Freddy shows Elizabeth his new project, a camera obscure. This book is almost a perfect repeat of the first, with a few changes. For one, all the characters are a year older, and Elizabeth is trying to train to be a librarian. Also. You know more about the background if you read the first book. I also like that a difference of the way chapter tiles are placed. First book it is word ladders and second book it is anagrams. I would recommend this book to people who like puzzles and/or liked the first book. I also recommend you read the books in order, as it makes more sense that way.

Winterhouse (2 Book Series)

Good read. Elizabeth Somers is sent to a hotel for Christmas vacation, assuming that it will be boring just like every year. Little dose she know that it might just be her best Christmas ever! The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Extreme Junior Edition (Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook - Distribution Title)

By David Borgenicht, Justin Heimberg

This is a wonderful book, from how to survive an avalanche to how to escape the grip of a python.. I think this is wonderful for all ages. It tells you really how to survive and understand these situations but sometimes in funny ways. I think that this is a very helpful book. Especially if you love outdoors. Like camping and hiking and that kind of stuff a lot. I rate this book 4/5 stars . Thank you for reading my review!-Pizzagirl7💋
