My Explosive Diary (Eliza Boom)

My Explosive Diary (Eliza Boom)

By Emily Gale

Eliza Boom is her father’s inventing assistant. She and her dog, Einstein, have had many great ideas for inventions, but none have worked out. As her father says, there are 99 failed inventions before a great one! After giving a class bully an early birthday present, Eliza’s father loses a spy ribbon (his top-secret project). But then, Eliza realizes that she tied the ribbon onto Zoe’s present, and it is now in Zoe’s hair! Now, before her dad finds out, she must get the spy ribbon back and try to get some revenge on Zoe. In a short, illustrated chapter book, Eliza tries to save her dad from big trouble. What I thought: This is definitely a book for younger readers—it is short, illustrated, and geared toward a younger audience. I think if you are starting to read chapter books, then this is a great book for you, with some action/adventure, and some fun things that happen in it. With a nice story and interesting illustrations, this is definitely a great read for starting readers!

Four Secrets (Carolrhoda Ya)

Four Secrets (Carolrhoda Ya)

By Margaret Willey

I was intrigued with the title Four Secrets. I love mystery books and wanted to know how the four secrets were connected. It is suspenseful since the author gives just a little information at a time about each character's secret. You won't be disappointed!

The Legend of Skull Cliff (Cabin Creek Mysteries) (Volume 3)

By Kristiana Gregory

I rate The Legend Of Skull Cliff 3 stars because in the beginning it was not all that great, but the middle and end were action full. Yes, I recommend this book to others.

The Mysterious Affair at Styles (Hercule Poirot #1)

The Mysterious Affair at Styles (Hercule Poirot #1)

By Agatha Christie

This book is amazing! I can see not many people have read about this book before, but I hope my review helps to make this book a little more popular! This is about a murder mystery, but it is very fascinating! Poirot, a mystery detective, works together with his friend, Captain Hastings, and Scotland Yard Chief Inspector Japp on their first mystery together. It's when Poirot escapes his homeland, Belgium, from the war that is going on at that time, and comes to England. He goes to Styles, and in Styles there is a very wealthy family. The wife is Ms. Inglethorp and the husband is Mr. Inglethorp. The husband is 20 years younger than Ms. Indlethorp and a family friend is afraid that Mr. Inglethorp will kill her any day now. When Ms. Inglethorp dies, why did it happen, how did it happen, and who did it? Find out in this mysterious, fun, and adventurous book, The Mysterious Affairs at Styles: an Hercule Poirot Mystery!
