I didn't like this book that much because the girl didn't feel like she was 9. The feelings were portrayed well and the descriptions were good but the pace was so bumpy which I did not like. I would recommend this for ages 9+

Julia Alvarez, the author of Before we were Free takes readers back in time to the 60s in Dominican Republic. The setting is in the Dominican Republic in 1960. Some of the main characters are Anita, Carla, Mami, Papi and Tio Toni. Some of the plot is the SIM invades Anita’s house. Julia’s writing style is in first person. I don’t like it because it was hard to follow who was who. She makes it confusing on whether Chucha is a human or a pet. It also does not feel like you are in Dominican Republic in the 1960’s. I was long and had to many spanish words. If you like action adventure or fantasy than this book is not for you. If you like books about social issues than this book is for you. Before we were free was given the Pura Belpre Award. Julia grew up in the Dominican Republic.

This was a great cookbook I made one recipe out of it so far and it was so good !the meal I made was minestrone!it was great and very easy.what I'm also going to make in here is the eggs in rolls it looks very easy and yummy also 😋 I love to cook and this is a great book for kids or adults that love to cook.I recommend this book to 8+ (because it may be to hard for younger kids)and I rate this book 5/5 stars 😁 😁 Pizzagirl7 😁 😁 !

Today a author is coming to the school!they are all really excited to get the re books signed but then the author says he will not sign the boys book because it's ripped!so lunch lady knows there is something wrong.she goes to where he said he loved and he didn't live there!so she goes to this other place.and he has all of the m missing gym teachers since five years ago!and now he is taking there gym teacher ! ! ! ! Lunch lady saves all of the gym teachers!!!😁 I think this was a good book and I recommend to all ages and I rate this book 4/5 stars Pizzagirl7

Today they are going to camp.but the counselors are making lots of jokes about a green goey monster in the lake .and one of the counslers dress up as the monster and scares the kids.but this time it attacks the counselor .and nobody believes him .I'm not going to spoil it but you'll be surprised!!!😁 I think this was a good book and I recommend to all ages and I rate this book 4/5 stars 😁 Pizzagirl7 😁 😁

Today they are going on a field trip and ... . . . . The kids think the tour is boring so they go and look around and they see that some of the art is fake!like a painting,and a rubber head thing!then they know it's fake.😮 then these people come into the room and say "courosidy killed the cat!!!" Then the capture them and put them in a cell. but then!!!Lunch lady saves the day and fixes the paintings!I recommend this book to all ages and I rate this book 4/5 😁 Pizzagirl7 😁

This book is quite funny. You should read it. The boy in the book loves wafers and knows how to do wafer balancing. My favorite part is when Delia's hair looks terrible because I find it funny. I think kids of the age 6 - 12 must read this book.

This was a pretty good book. It talked about a lot of different machines. I really liked the garbage truck the best. It had good pictures.

This book was really good. I liked the giraffe a lot, even if he didn't like his neck. I'm glad he made a friend at the end of the book.

Unikitty is a great friend. She is a great Lego character. I really liked her in the Lego movie. This book did a good job explaining who Unikitty is.
