Charlie Joe Jackson's Guide to Not Reading (Charlie Joe Jackson Series)

Charlie Joe Jackson's Guide to Not Reading (Charlie Joe Jackson Series)

By Tommy Greenwald

For fans of Diary of the Wimpy Kid or Tom Gates series... this book is for you! I really liked how everything played out at the end... This may seem like your tale of a middle schooler... and you're a 100% right... but there are ACTION.... SUSPENSE...which gives it a more exciting way to read this book... Although it has a boy perspective, it's totally fine, and I understood that all boys act the way they act... well maybe not... but most boys... Meet Charlie Joe Jackson, he thinks reading is redundant and he does not enjoy it... not even one little bit... I REPEAT he thinks reading is redundant and he does not enjoy it... not even one little bit... Okay to be honest... this is DOGObooks here... and we are here to write reviews about amazing books and movies, give our input about the news, and meet amazing people here... .So I thought it is pretty ironic while I am typing my reviews... but this story was hilarious.. and for some of you readers out there...it's pretty ridiculous and quirky... I am an avid reader myself, so all these tips that Charlie gave in the beginning of the chapter... were pretty funny... So it starts off with Charlie's friend, Timmy, won't write any more book reports.. Now Charlie Joe is in trouble... he has to find a person to write his reviews for him... or Plan B... he has to do it!!! This middle school adventure was pretty hilarious.. With cartoonish illustration... this story made my day... So for those who do not like reading... this book is for you... to just people who want to have something to laugh and smile.. this books is totally for you! Enjoy! :D

I Survived the Japanese Tsunami, 2011 (I Survived #8)

By Lauren Tarshis

Ben is staying in Japan in a town called Shogahama. It's where Ben's dad grew up. His parents announced they would be going on the trip but a few months after the announcement his father died in a car accident. Now they are going the trip without him and are going to stay with an Ojisan (uncle in Japanese) one day in the trip there's an earthquake that last for 5 minutes! (That's actually a long time.) Later they find out is had a magnitude of 9.03. Will Ben and his family survive the fourth-largest earthquake ever recorded in history and will they survive the deadly tsunami that follows after? Read the book to find out. I highly recommend this realistic fiction book about real life history. Thanks for reading -Ajg16's reviews

Wow. This is the first word I said after I read this book. Harper has moved into a new house and doesn't like it. There are rumors that the house is haunted. When her younger brother Michael acts strange and Harper is worried. She finds out that her brother is being possessed by a bad ghost. Harper has to save her brother and banish the ghost with help of some friends. Will Harper save Michael? You'll have to read the book to find out! Definitely a spine chiller book and perfect for Halloween or any other time in the year.

Charlie Joe Jackson's Guide to Extra Credit (Charlie Joe Jackson Series)

Charlie Joe Jackson's Guide to Extra Credit (Charlie Joe Jackson Series)

By Tommy Greenwald

Charlie Joe Jackson is a boy who is desperate for extra credit so he doesn't have to go to camp ritubukie. I thought this book was funny and inappropriate in two parts of the book because first somebody kicks somebody in the you know what and second somebody throws a candy apple into you know what. I recommend this book if you have trouble in school because it would be kind of like your personality.

Shadow Magic

Shadow Magic

By Joshua Khan

Once Lilith Shadow was an ordinary House Shadow princess with no prospects for life. But then when her family is murdered, she becomes the last member of House Shadow, and becomes the ruler. For a little girl this is a daunting role. And the fact that her region is weak and surrounded by possible enemies makes things no easier. Not to mention the fact that she is still being forced into a marriage to the horrible prince from the kingdom of light. If only her father had taught her magic as well as her brother, then she would be able to save her realm. As it is, Lilith must break the rules, and learn the magic of the undead-even if she is a girl. Thorn is the son of an outlaw and he has been captured in slavery. When Tyburn, an executioner for House Shadow, buys him from his master, he is forced to make the decision to stay with Tyburn-for a whole year and one day. But all he wants is to be free. When Thorn arrives at House Shadow he meets Lilith. Will two people who come from different worlds be able to work together to reach their dreams? Much of this book is about the art of nethermancy, so if that makes you uncomfortable this is not the book for you. It was a book filled with adventure and dark magic. I gave this book 3 out of 5 stars, not because it wasn't written well or hair-raising(it certainly was), but because it wasn't my style or preference.
