The Wishing Stone: #1 Dangerous Dinosaur

The Wishing Stone: #1 Dangerous Dinosaur

By Lorana Hoopes

This book is about a little boy named Spencer who doesn’t like to read. He’s given a magic stone that sends him into whatever story he’s reading. He reads a story with a dinosaur, and is sent into that story. During his time there, he helps the characters in the story. This book is pretty good. The characters have a lot of personality, but I didn’t feel satisfied at the end. I would recommend this book though.

Gretzky : An Autobiography (Braille)

Gretzky : An Autobiography (Braille)

By Wayne Gretzky

"Gretzky An Autobiography" is an autobiography written by authors Wayne Gretzky and Rick Reilly with photos are by Vincent Virga. This book has 238 that go through the most important parts of his life like when he got to the very top of the National Hockey League (NHL) being the best. And, the dark times in his life like when parents of his teammates yelled at him for being a puck hog. Or, how he felt when he won the Stanley Cup for the very first time and heard the fans scream his name “Gretzky, Gretzky, Gretzky.” When Wayne played in his youth he made many mistakes like, not letting coaches know what happened off the ice. However, letting this happen helped him fuel his tank with determination so he could drive himself even harder. Although, doing this made his family move everywhere so he can always one up himself. Doing this provided him with a challenge to work on his social skills because he was a very shy kid. It also, helped with training and work ethic to allow him to become a better hockey player and a much better person. I would definitely recommend this book to a fan player or relative of a hockey player because you get to know the game and its history a lot better. If i could ever ask Wayne Gretzky one question face to face it would be, “If you could go back in time and fix one thing what would it be and why?”

Halley Harper, Science Girl Extraordinaire: The Friendship Experiment (Volume 2)

Halley Harper, Science Girl Extraordinaire: The Friendship Experiment (Volume 2)

By Tracy Borgmeyer

Halley Harper is a walking disaster. Sure, she is full of science brain and fun ideas, but that's where it all goes wrong. Like how she nearly destroyed an oven cooking s'mores. And how her "monster toothpaste" experiment spewed green gunk all over her friend Gracelyn. And how the Monster toothpaste got in her hair and she ended up with a crazy new hairdo. One letter arrives soon: her favorite science magazine has asked her to interview a teacher at her beloved Camp Eureka! Halley BELIEVES this will be the time of her life--but not so much. Who's the girl with color-tipped hair who keeps trying to keep her apart from Gracelyn? Who is the crazy new roommate who talks nonstop? And why, oh, why is the camp magician sneaking around at night with a ripped-out page from her diary? This book is a perfect fit for every kid who has a science tornado inside of him or her that has to be let out. Extra plus for the science experiment instructions in the back of the book!Love this.
