Ogres of Ohio (American Chillers (Prebound))

Ogres of Ohio (American Chillers (Prebound))

By Johnathan Rand

this book is really good i would suggest it for people that like to read to their class or just to read in their free time. this book is about a girl that is just moving to a different city in Ohio with her family, when she starts moving their things inside her mom said she can choose the first room because, her brother is at their grandparents' house for the weekend. She finds a room with a light in it but their electricity isn't on yet so she checks out the room and the light disappeared. so she shut the door and the light appeared again, so she bent down and looked in the door under the crack and tried to see what was there. Then she flung open the door and saw dust go through door at other end of room and the light disappeared again, she went to look at door across room and ripped off boards and saw door with engraving that said," danger do not enter." Finally, she felt claws on her back and started to yell and turned around and it was her brother, the door opened as they tried to go out room and turned around and saw a whole different world.

A Nest for Celeste: A Story About Art, Inspiration, and the Meaning of Home

By Henry Cole

This book is from the point of view from a mouse named Celeste. Celeste is trying to find a new home. Along the way Celeste makes many new friends and an enemy. In the end Celeste finally finds a home. Overall this book is alright and full of wonderful pencil sketches on almost every page.

Buddy

Buddy

By M.H. Herlong

This book is much more real life and relatable than any other dog book. In my book Buddy a kid named Lil’T who already has a rough life, goes through some more rough time when he decides to get a dog of his own. The dog's name is Buddy. This book takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana. A conflict that he faces is Hurricane Katrina and having to leave his dog behind. When he goes back after the hurricane Buddy is missing! Lil'T really wants to go and look for Buddy but his family thinks that they should first find shelter and a place to live. In this book the antagonist is definitely the hurricane but also Lil'Ts family keeps switching between protagonist and antagonist from different situations. The protagonists are Lil'T and Buddy. Another conflict is that Lil'T has to make a life changing decision for both him and Buddy. Overall I really liked and enjoyed this book. I have read it so many times because of how much I enjoy the story. I really recommend this book and it is a great free read and independent book to enjoy.

School of Fear 3: The Final Exam

By Gitty Daneshvari

funny

Now that Hy-Hy and Celery have told Sylvie about school of fear, Sylvie is trying to make a news winning article about the school. The only way to make that work is by convicing Abernathy to like Ms.Wellington, which is really hard. So they go meet Basmati, a crazy man who is always opposite. The only way he will help them is if the kids find Toothpaste, his canary. Wnt to see what happens next? Buy the book at your local book store! I think Gitty Daneshvari should make a 4th book, how about you? Please comment or reply!!!!

The Extraordinary Adventures of Ordinary Boy, Book 1: The Hero Revealed

The Extraordinary Adventures of Ordinary Boy, Book 1: The Hero Revealed

By William Boniface

Well first i thought it was boring. Then i started loving it. It's just about a ordinary kid. expect for the fact that every one is a superhero. Except for Oboy, (thats what real fans call him.) ,he has no power what so ever. He says how every baby doesn't take long to show there superpower. For example. If the baby starts floating they will call him/her floating baby, older Floating Boy/Girl, even older, Floating man/Woman. you get the picture. some parents of kids come up silly names of the book. Its funny really.

Stay Alive #1: Crash

Stay Alive #1: Crash

By Joseph Monninger

I liked this book because when you think about survival books everyone goes crazy and turns on each other but in this book every one worked together to stay alive when their only food was lollipops and turned working hard to be saved a way to enjoy the lollipops.

Hero

Hero

By Mike Lupica

Hero is the book that all started at a middle school, where Zach, a small boy, comes home to find his dad dead in a plane crash. He had worked for the president, but never specifically told Zach what he did. He had said it was top secret. After Zach's dad died, Zach thinks that his father is not died in an accident, and he start finding information. My favourite character is Zach, I like Zach is not because he is the narrator of this book, is because that he has the courage to find something that he is not suppose to find. I recommend someone that like to explore things to read this book.

The Thickety: A Path Begins

The Thickety: A Path Begins

By J. A. White

This book was amazing! Kara's mother was accused of witchcraft 7 years ago, when Kara was only 5. Even Kara's Father called her mother guilty. Ever since Kara, and her 7 year old brother Taff, have been treated terribly. Kara has to do all the work around the farm since her mother died because her father has been filled with sorrow and guilt. He spends all day writing in a journal. (and later you'll find out why) But, one day Kara discovers a grimoire and realizes the people in the town are right. She is a witch. Now she can finally get revenge for all the mean things they've done! Or can she? Should she? For an almost 500 page book I thought it moved fairly quickly with a great plot and awesome twists. I had trouble putting it down! The cliffhanger at the end makes me long for a sequel! I would recommend The Thickety to fans of fantasy, magic or great books!
