I read this book as a younger child and can still to this day remember being truly heart touched by this boom and captivated by emotion. Such a great story, can't wait to read it to my son now.

This such a great book! It is about a loving threesome who range the dark hills and the river bottoms of little Cherokee country. Old Dan had the strength, Little Ann had the smartness and Billy had the will to train them into being the best coon hunting hounds in the country. This is an exciting tale of love and adventure. And I promise you, you'll never forget it.

Where the Red Fern Grows is about this boy named Billy Coleman who really wants some dogs. One day when he is walking, he finds an article that says that there are coon hounds for sale. For two years he works and saves enough money to buy them. Throughout this story, you will venture upon mountain lions, bullies, coons, sadness, and most of all friendship, love, and loyalty. I seriously recommend this book to those who have not read it.

It was sad when old dan and little ann died

Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls undoubtedly earn five stars! If you enjoy reading historical fiction and love animals, this is the perfect book for you. These extremely lovable characters will have a place in your heart forever. I will warn you in advance: this novel includes a very depressing part near the end. Despite this, I guarantee you will fall in love with Where the Red Fern Grows!

This is a classic that I could not put down!
