Summer's finally here, and Derek Fallon is looking forward to pelting the UPS truck with water balloons, climbing onto the garage roof, and conducting silly investigations. But when his parents decide to send him to Learning Camp, Derek's dreams of fun come to an end. Ever since he's been labeled a "reluctant reader," his mom has pushed him to read "real" books-something other than his beloved Calvin & Hobbes.
As Derek forges unexpected friendships and uncovers a family secret involving himself (in diapers! no less), he realizes that adventures and surprises are around the corner, complete with curve balls. My Life as a Book is a 2011 Bank Street - Best Children's Book of the Year.

Derek Fallon is a trouble maker! He loves to conduct silly investigations and throw water balloons at trucks. He is looking toward summer vacation until his mother ruin his plan. This book has lots of humor in it.Many kids can relate to Derek. This book isn't really bad.At the end he learns a valuable lesson.

if your a fan of diary of a wimpy kid youll love this book

I thought this book was okay. It made me think about how I would write my life as a book. I would call it "My world".

This book is about a kid named Derek Fallon. He is a bad boy in the book,he would conduct silly investigations and would water balloon trucks. School was over and he was ready for Summer. Although all of his ides for the Summer get thrown out the window as his mother takes him to learning camp for the Summer. Then after spending some time in the camp he starts to like it and he makes new friend. This book was not amazing but not bad either.

this wasnt a bad book but it wasnt my favorite. I never really liked the authors book that much but this one was better then the others. It about summer and how this boy is excited about, but then he finds out his mom signed him up for learning camp. He later learns to like the camp and he makes some friends. (Not a really good plot in my opinion though)

It was also about some girl that died...and he thought he was the one who practically killed her...

i highley recomed this its so funny and is shuch a great book thanks to the auother and the book i realllly reallllly like it

This book is a boy's point of view about his dislike of reading. Yet, reading itself get's him interested in the death of a girl named Susan. He plays with a monkey, feeds his curiosity, visits his grandmother, and even steals a "diamond". All while making friends along the way and learning a valuable lesson.

I love this book especially the ending!
