A hilarious, action-packed New York Times bestselling series launches with a story-within-a-story, from the author of the Half Upon a Time trilogy.

Life is boring when you live in the real world, instead of starring in your own book series. Owen knows that better than anyone, what with the real world’s homework and chores.

But everything changes the day Owen sees the impossible happen—his classmate Bethany climb out of a book in the library. It turns out Bethany’s half-fictional and has been searching every book she can find for her missing father, a fictional character.

Bethany can’t let anyone else learn her secret, so Owen makes her a deal: All she has to do is take him into a book in Owen’s favorite Kiel Gnomenfoot series, and he’ll never say a word. Besides, visiting the book might help Bethany find her father…

…Or it might just destroy the Kiel Gnomenfoot series, reveal Bethany’s secret to the entire world, and force Owen to live out Kiel Gnomenfoot’s final (very final) adventure.

I love this book

A boy named Owen goes to school on a normal day. During lunch he goes into the cafeteria to eat food. He sees a girl buried into a book and when she comes out she has chocolate on her mouth. Then Owen's adventure starts with going into a book with Bethany

This Book is absolutely AMAZING! James Riley is a magnificent author!! Half Upon A Time is a VERY good book as well. My favorite characters are probably Kiel and Bethany in this book.

This is one of my favorite fantasy themed books. Story Thieves is a mystery, adventure, and has many unexpected twists because it's a story within a story.

this is a story with characters in the story that steal stories in this inparticular story that has story-like things that may not enter our not-story-like world.

This books was really good and the style of writing was very captivating making me read late in to the night! one thing that was very interesting is that the main characters actually went inside other books! this quick paced fantasy is great for adventurous readers!

Everything changed when Owen saw Bethany climb out of a book! Owen and Bethany go on adventure thoughout the book! I give this book 5 stars!

There is a boy and he is in a boring life and school and all he wants is adventure. one day after one of his classes he went to the cafeteria and someone caught his eye a girl in the back of the cafeteria with no lunch and the Charlie in the chocolate factory book, and it was way to close to her face and chocolate was all over her mouth. later he found the book and that girl got chocolate all over it! he decided to track her down and ask about the chocolate all over the book. just then his life got interesting.
