Magnus Chase has seen his share of trouble. Ever since that terrible night two years ago when his mother told him to run, he has lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, staying one step ahead of the police and truant officers.
One day, he's tracked down by an uncle he barely knows-a man his mother claimed was dangerous. Uncle Randolph tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god.
The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants, and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years.
When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision.
Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die . . .

this book is so funny I lol almost every 3 pages, it is also action packed right from the start. I defenintly recomed this book. ther is on,y one problem, if you dont know much about norse mythology its sortof hard to follow. (btw I know alot about norde mythology)

As the first book in the Magnus Chase series, this is really good! Cousin of Annabeth Chase (for Percy Jackson fans!), Magnus embarks on adventures with norse mythology. Make sure to read the book to find out the rest!

This book is epic! There is action, adventure, and much much more! This book is every thing a kid enjoys to read about. Plus, I like norse mythology!

I don't like the Magnus Chase books as much. The Asgard gods aren't as well known and the story line was hard to follow. It feels like Rick Riordan is stretching out his series/stories just to make more money. I don't recommend this book

In this book Magnus chase sacrifices his life for the people. When he dies he goes to a norse-god heaven where he is able to go back to the mortal world and appear as a human. In this book Magnus has to retrieve the sword of summer.

I read this book a few weeks ago and it was OK. Its plot was high in energy yet not quite as captivating as I would have preferred! Loved the characters personalitys though and the change in overall feelings throughout the whole book!

Magnus Chase is normal homeless kid on the streets; until he discovers his dad is a Norse god. In this book, he has a quest to keep Fenris Wolf chained. This book is suspenseful, with a dot of humor. I would recommend this book to age groups 7+, only because of the touch of violence. Overall, is so good, that I would consider it a necessity of life!

Magnus Chase lives on with his buddies Hearthstone and Blitzen. When his uncle discovers that he is alive, he takes him to retrieve the Sword of Summer. After he finds it, Surt and Magnus fight for the sword's ownership. He dies in the fight, but goes to Valhalla, thanks to the Valkyrie Samirah Al-Allabas. With a little help from his hall mates, he escapes with his old pals Hearth and Blitzen a quest to defeat Surt and Fenris Wolf! On the way, Sam joins the fight. I think that this book is very suspenseful, and it will make you want to grab the next one and finish it up to!

Magnus Chase is actually the cousin of Annabeth from the PJO series. His father is a Norse god, which draws him into the Norse world. Magnus dies in the first chapter of the book, but that isn't the end of his story. He ends up in the Norse "heaven" and he meets many friends. I love how this book is inclusive of many different cultures, including the Arabic one. While this book isn't as great as Percy Jackson, you should definitely read it!

Magnus Chase is a poor person, on the streets. But then when his uncle Randolph is looking for him, he has to escape. Before his mom died, she told him to avoid his uncle. She didn't explain why, she just told him to avoid him. But then he has no choice. He has to talk to Randolph. And his cousin Annabeth. They have to find the Sword of Summer. But then the craziest thing happened. Magnus dies while fighting. But he can escape and be reborn. The problem is, he dropped the Sword of Summer when he died. Now they have to find it. This book was full of adventure, and I recommend it to adventure readers, and Greek mythology. I rate it 5/5. Highly recommended.
