The moment they saw each other, Bean and Ivy knew they wouldn't be friends. But when Bean plays a joke on her sister, Nancy, and has to hide quick Ivy comes to the rescue, proving that sometimes the best of friends are people never meant to like each other. Vibrant characters and lots of humor make this a charming and addictive introduction to Ivy and Bean.

I loved this book. I relates to my life alot i really like this book because it was written by one of my favorite authors

This book love the most because this book is when Ivy moves in right across the street from Bean and their Mothers want them to say hi but at the beginning they wont.

So Ivy is new to the neighborhood and Bean's mother tells her to play with her but she doesn't want to. BEan plays a prank on her older sister and tries to run away. Ivy sees her and shows her a hiding spot in her backyard. Then they go inside Ivy's house. Bean starts to think that she might actually like Ivy. Then when they are going to Bean's backyard for an ingredient the sister sees them and they try to run away. They hid in Bean's little clubhouse and her older sister didn't see it and she ran and tripped and slipped right in a big mud puddle. Then Bean's mother grounds her for a little big. Ivy goes home. They're going to Bean's backyard for an ingredient for a spell, bc Ivy is a witch and she practices spells. The ingredient they are going for is worms.

This book is really nice for young girls looking for a good book. This story, like any other story, starts with two different girls. Bean is a fun-loving girl who is friends with everyone and has a bit of an icy attitude towards her mean, older sister named Nancy. Ivy is a quiet-type girl who imagination takes her on the journey of becoming a witch. Both girls' moms wanted their own girl to play with the other girl. They finally meet once Nancy is about to get Bean in trouble and Bean flees to the retreat of Ivy's backyard with Ivy's help. Bean learns of Ivy's "spell" that can make someone dance forever, and Ivy learns of Bean's mean sister. Once their interest in casting a spell on Nancy that makes her dance forever is created, Bean helps Ivy look like a better witch. Then, they cross into different yards to get worms from Bean's yard so Ivy can create her potion. Once they get to Bean's yard, they get the worms, and start to leave. But once they hear Nancy sobbing, they think Nancy is crying about Bean disappearing. A little afterwards, they learn she's crying because she can't get pierced ears. Bean gets mad and screams at Nancy. In short, a series of escalating mishaps fall onto Nancy, and Ivy+Bean become best friends. Their adventures continue in this short-paged series.

My 3rd grade teacher recommended this book to me and I loved reading it in elementary school. I checked this book out of the library for my sister who is going to third grade now and she really likes it. I love how the people who think they won't end up friends usually do end up being friends. This book is funny and cool, perfect for any little girl to read.

This was my favoite series when I was a kid It was also one of the books I read in first grade Thias auther is such a good writer!!!

it was really under my reading level . but for a 3erd grader it would be fine . it was one of those books that you kind of flow in and out of.

I did not really like this book that much. And I don't know why. It was just not my kind of book or my cup of tea.

This book was about 2 girl's named Ivy and Bean. I thought that these two girls would not be friends just when they met because they where so different. They didn't like each other at first but surprisingly, the become not only friends but best friends! I have read many books in this series and they are not the same. But then I realized you don't have to be the same and do everything alike to become friend with someone. I looking forward to reading some more Ivy and Bean books.
