This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

Incredible. That is the only word I can manage to say after reading this novel. Absolutely incredible. There is definitely no reason in the world why this book is not astonishing. Harry Potter, an orphaned boy living with his cruel uncle and aunt finally finds his true home: Hogwarts. From the moment he stepped onto Platform 9 3/4, his life took a giant change. From that point onward he experienced friendship, power, love, hope and most importantly, magic. Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry. Harry's escape from reality. It's the place where he can truly be himself. It's the place where he makes discoveries around every corner. It's the place. . . that he can really call home. Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone is mind-blowing in every way. You will feel happy, depressed, grief-stricken, but above all, you will feel like anything is possible. Once you begin, the end will just be a new beginning, a beginning of adventure, that is. Harry Potter will bring you to the land of wonders and amazement and magic. It will put you into the book, and keep you there until you realize that it's time to let go. But in truth, you never will. You never will let go of Harry Potter, or Hogwarts, or the magic of it all. It will always be there, never-ending it's wonders. This book must be your next read. Because if you do. . . well, let's just say magic will forever be at your fingertips.

This book was amazing like all off the other Harry Potter books in the series. It is amazing how Harry's boring life turns into an adventure that changes his life.

I read the book its was so freaking awesome

Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone was amazing. It was a great kick-off to the series. The book is an inspiring story about an orphaned boy, living in a loveless home, who finds out that his parents were wizards, and he is too. He then goes off to magic boarding school, where he learns magic and makes friends and enemies. He also learns that his parents were murdered by an evil wizard, and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named tried to kill him when he was a baby. At the school, Harry makes friends, fights trolls, learns how to play the school sport, Quidditch, and uncovers a three-headed dog that guards a secret. But what is he hiding? What is Voldemort up to? This is a marvelous story about family, friendship and finding you belong.

Harry Potter is one of the world's bestselling books and I totally understand that! This was a wonderfully written magical book! Harry Potter is a boy who learns on his eleventh birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. He is summoned from his life as an unwanted child to become a student at Hogwarts,a boarding school for wizards. There, he meets several friends who become his closest allies and help him discover the truth about his parents' mysterious deaths and learns more about himself and all around him.

Harry Potter is about a boy who's mother and faher died. He is actually a wizard that defeated the man who killed his parents. When he goes to sorcery school, something that he has never heard about, he realizes that he is famous. This book is a great start to the whole series.

This book is amazing. There is everything : humor, magic, and action. This book is probably best for kids ages 8 and up. I like the the characters the best.

This book is a great kickoff for the harry Potter series. It really shows off J. K. Rowling unique (and awesome) writing skills. Me and a couple other friends have a book club and it was probably the quickest we ever finished a book. Nobody could put it down.

I loved this book and can't wait to continue with the rest of the series. I put off reading this book for a long time and my friends kept telling me to read it, so glad I finally did and now know what all the excitement is about. I am interested in watching the movies now too!

I really liked it . At first I thought Harry Potter books were not good at all. Then I just picked up one book and it was the sorcerers stone . Now my goal is to read and finish the series. I really liked when Harry got the stone from Voldemort and destroyed it because it was one of the seven horcruxes.
