This book was great I really liked it, it was my favorite book in 4th grade it had every thing you could want. The characters felt like they were really jumping right out of the pages to me. I really suggest this book to any one who likes a book with good action or just need a book for when you're bored. Yet again i'm saying thank you Orsan Scott this was my favorite book and I am really looking forward to having people read this book!

This is a great book! But I would read the book first before the movie because when you watch the movie it makes much more sense and Enders Game might be a little violent other whys a great book!!

This was a great book. I really enjoyed the action and the great detail. I LOVED this book. It was a great action filled suspenseful story. It is a GREAT book! Read it!

This was an awsome book... but it was sad when he destroyed the whole planet and didn't know it at first.

Whoah Spoilers! Good thing I've read it...

I was literally SOBBING by the time I was done with that! First of all, HE KILLED THEM WHEN HE DIDN'T WANT TOO!!! HOW DARE HE BE DECEIVED LIKE THAT! Second, HE JUST LEFT WITH VALENTINE, AND THAT WAS IT!! Of course, he wrote Ender in Exile, and Speaker for the Dead, which make up for some of it. Third, HE DIDN'T END UP WITH PETRA!!!!!! I WAS SOOOOO MAD. ENDER AND PETRA WERE MEANT TO BE!!! I'm sorry for my rant, but honestly, those are the reasons why I was CRYING, but I love the book, and the movie. Of course, the book is always better than the movie, but that movie was AWESOME!!!

Ender and Petra were NOT meant to be! Bean and Petra forever!!! Go read Ender's Shadow and Shadow of the Hedgemon to see the beginning. (Ender's Shadow is the best of the series, I'll warn you now.) Then read Shadow Puppets to see their relationship. (13+) Shadow of the Giant is sad and very war centered. Shadows in flight is also sad. However, I despise the movie. I hated the aging and the two weeks Ender spent at battle school compared to 7 YEARS. I thought the battle room scenes were poorly executed and the adults interfered too much to get a sense of the children's brilliance.

I was younger than thirteen when I read the books. Is that a bad thing? I mean, I guess it is, but I think eleven and up is good to read most of the books. (Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow) Ender in Exile however, I would DEFINITELY want to wait until you're at LEAST twelve. Same goes for Speaker of the Dead.

I think the romance seen in Shadow Puppets (Bean and Petra's 'honeymoon') is way worse than the one in Ender in Exile. Still, getting around to Speaker for the Dead.....

Oh I have. BUT SERIOUSLY, THEY WERE MEANT TO BE!!!! I will never be persuaded that they weren't. Yeah, I agree with you about the movie, but they kind of had to...you can't have six-year-olds hanging on wires for ten hours a day. And I wish they had made it into a TV show. It would've been better for the time process in general. As for the adults, yes I agree with you. But it was for the audience (because some of us are a little slow to understand Ender's brilliance) So that's why they did that. But I was SO MAD they didn't have that whole Valentine/Peter political thing going on. I wish they had done that.

Ok we'll just have to agree to disagree on that (for example I know boys who are great friends and teach me a lot, but I could never imagine dating them. It'd just be weird.) And I'd like to argue that you can in fact let 6 year olds hang on wires for 10 hours a day, they just wouldn't be very happy about it.... I've heard the idea about the TV show before and I'm wondering why they didn't do that. For those of us love the books the movie was just kind of sad. I'm not sure if I even WANT to see The Giver in August...

by the way the movie was awesome

i saw the movie but i have not read the book yet

This was an awsome book... but it was sad when he destroyed the whole planet and didn't know it at first.

I found the book disturbing. Don't send 6 year olds to fight your wars! I didn't even finish it.

The reason they start training children at 6 is because children often have quicker reaction times and don't have the figurative box that limits creativity. If you read a war of gifts, it was also to indoctrinate them (something much easier at a young age) so they would grow up without religion or opinions. Then, they had to complete several more years of schooling probably finishing in their late teens or early 20's. So they didn't ACTUALLY go to war until they were of legal age. Ender was a special case. I could argue that it's no different then countries were you're required to join the military at 19. They start school at 6 and learn about their countries customs and than they are forced to join. Ender's Game is considered a classic and is one of my favorite books. It's very thought provoking (much like George Orwell's work) and makes you think about what you're reading. Training children at the age of 6 being one of those things. I really hope you reconsider reading this book as it's a great piece of fiction.

That was only for TRAINING, not war. Also, you have to remember Graff's line: "You were bred for this." Ender was born specifically for the traits his sister and brother had, and he was to find the fine line between compassion and hate. Also, by the time he REALLY starts fighting them was when he was 12.
