A New York Times-Bestseller!

For twelve-year-old Emily, the best thing about moving to San Francisco is that it's the home city of her literary idol: Garrison Griswold, book publisher and creator of the online sensation Book Scavenger (a game where books are hidden in cities all over the country and clues to find them are revealed through puzzles). Upon her arrival, however, Emily learns that Griswold has been attacked and is now in a coma, and no one knows anything about the epic new game he had been poised to launch. Then Emily and her new friend James discover an odd book, which they come to believe is from Griswold himself, and might contain the only copy of his mysterious new game.

Racing against time, Emily and James rush from clue to clue, desperate to figure out the secret at the heart of Griswold's new game―before those who attacked Griswold come after them too.

This is a cool book, that follows a boy and a girl. It is action-packed, and based off a real-life program. A man named Garrison Griswald is attacked. He happens to be Emily's idol, and she decides to investigate. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat.

This book is the first in a series. It's about a girl named Emily Crane and she just moved to San Francisco. She isn't very excited although because she's moved a lot. Her family wants to live in all the 50 states of America, so Emily is kind of tired of moving all the time. The creator of the game Book Scavenger (Garrison Griswold), lives in San Francisco, which makes the move better. Unfortunately, a little while after Emily and her family moved, Garrison got shot. In the same place as the shooting, Emily finds a hidden handmade version of Edgar Allan Poe's story “The Gold-Bug” that she thinks is the start of a new Griswold game.

This reminds me of willy wonka- and it was just (or more!) amazing. It was Sooo good! It is about a girl who moves to San Francisco and plays a game called Book Scavenger, like Geocaching but with books. But when her idol and Book Scavenger creator is attacked, the girl is left, along with her friend, to solve a mystery of a secret and never seen before Edgar Allen Poe book!

i love this book. i love that it is about finding other books. i like that we can do a book scavenger in real life. i also like that the main girl and her bother actually find out about the big prize. this is a good book.

Two new friends work on codes and ciphers and play a great game called book scavenger where you have to find books and then read them and hide them again, but they wonder if something sinister is really going on.

This book is AMAZING. If you are a fan of the Gollywhopper Games or Chris Grabenstein, this is a book for you. Emily is a constant user of an extremely popular book scavenging site. When she moves to San Francisco, the home of the famous Garrison Griswold (creator of the popular scavenging site and other book-related events), she starts hunting right away. But after a mysterious accident and an insane discovery, she ends up trying to solve a game that hasn't even been released to the public with her brother, Matthew, and her friend, James. This scavenger turns out to be the hunt of her life! I can't wait to read The Unbreakable Code!

It is a good book for battle of the books. I recommend it to people who enjoy treasure hunts and books.

I loved it so much!!! I'm going to read it again, before reading book 2.

This book is full of suspence that you can barly sit in you seat when you are reading it it is a grate book

This book is about Emily Crane and her family who like to move around the USA. They settle in San Francisco where Emily can continue her online game book scavenger. She meets a boy James who is her best friend. He helps her crack book scavenger codes to a game that turns out to be more dangerous that it seams.
