This was such a fantastic book, filled with plot twists, developed characters, and even cool footnotes to explain and enhance the the story! Claudia, a girl known for having no friends and being a little bit strange, but one day she notices someone move in a painting. Pim, the boy in the painting, becomes one of her best friends, and Claudia will do almost anything to help save him-even facing some of her darkest fears. The footnotes were one of the best parts about the book, as they provided interesting facts and details in a fun and exciting way. I loved the dynamics between the characters, especially Claudia and Pim, and their friendship was so awesome! I hope that artistic enthusiasts will pick this up!About 8 years agopipermc11 has read this book.

One of my all-time favorite aspects of these books is their characters, and how they're so perfectly well thought out and executed. Oftentimes, I read books for their plot, not their characters, but the characters definitely shine in this book. Now, that's not to say that the plot wasn't good, I thought the premise of the book was amazing as well. Another element of the book that I absolutely love is the underlying theme of bonding with your friends. Yes, Niles and Miles may be pranksters, but they're also best friends who stick up for each other, even if their actions as friends are a bit debatable. The premise of the book is that The Terrible Two (a.k.a. Niles and Miles), have gotten too good at their pranks, and, in an effort to stop the pranks from getting out of hand, a former principal with detestable rules steps in. Niles and Miles realize just how easy they had it with their former principal, and go to extreme measures to get him back. The one part that I didn't enjoy through the book was that this premise seemed cliche at times. We've all seen this cliche before, and, while the book is well written, it still stands to that particular cliche. Overall though, I thought the book was an outstanding sequel, and I'm looking forward to more books in the series!Over 8 years agopipermc11 added a book review.
