Cora is a small mermaid with a BIG personality. But like so many mermaids in the third grade, she is struggling to truly be herself.

She wants to be like the Singing Sirens, the most glamorous swim team in the sea. Unfortunately, an annoying road--er, seablock--keep getting in her way.

When Cora fails her spelling test, her coach says she can’t be on the team unless she gets an A on the next one!

Can Cora conquer her spelling test, make the swim team, AND stay true to herself at the same time?

Cora (the mermaid) is in 3rd grade. Cora is good at a lot of things, except for spelling. She gets a FISH on her report card (an F). She just made junior ranks on the most glamorous swim team (the Singing Sirens). Cora's mother gives her a diary with a spell to help her write better. It helps her correct the words that she misspells. My younger sister loved this book, but I however didn't enjoy it that much. I recommend this book to the younger readers.

This isn't really to good of a book for older kids like 5th grade but for 2nd 3rd graders this is perfect. it a nice book about an mermaid and what she learns along the way, it might not be the most interesting thing ever but giving it a try is fine.
