There once was a young girl, who was pretty but poor, so poor she had to go barefoot. Her name was Karen. She loved to dance. When Karen becomes an orphan, her great aunt takes her in. One day on a shopping trip, she is bought a beautiful pair of red shoes. The shoes magically come to life and steer Karen down a path she would never have imagined in her wildest dreams, or nightmares. This fresh take on the Hans Christian Andersen classic "The Red Shoes" is a tale of hope, obsession and guilt, retold and lavishly illustrated by Eisner award nominated Metaphrog.
This volume also includes Metaphrog's adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen classic, "The Little Match Girl" and an original story, "The Glass Case".

This was a short book but very interesting. Most of these stories are sad. They are creepy in a way. Read this interesting stories when you're bored

I’m not a fan of sad stories, so this wasn’t really a fun read... that's why I haven't rated it. However, the tales were in graphic novel form, which was pretty cool. I would only recommend this book to you if you are a fan of Hans Christian Anderson and the story of the Little Match Girl as well as the Red Shoes. There’s also an original in here, called the Glass Case.

This book is a collection of three short stories told in the former of a comic. The main story is about a girl who is entranced by a pair of red ballet slippers and once she puts them on she can't stop dancing. They made her abandon her aunt- her last family member- in her time of need.

This is a good book. It is a collection of adapted Hans Cristian Anderson tales. It includes The Red Shoes, The Glass Case, and The Little Match Girl. Most of the tales are sad, but it is a good book that people should read.

If this is like fairy tales then I'm all in for it. Otherwise please take it away. I LOVE fairy tales, I just don't like it when people change up fairy tales. Still a good read though. Please enjoy this book.

This book was kind of weird. All the stories resulted in someone dead, which I find sad. I understand that some parents die when their kids are at an early age, but they should've had, at least in the first story, a parent who loves the kid. Also, this book left out a lot of details.

This book is a collection of fairytales including The Red Shoes, The Little Match Girl, and The Glass Case. I enjoyed the retelling in comics, but the major con was that this book was too short. Those three stories, those are it. This book is 64 pages long.

This is a collection of some of the Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tales. It is a graphic novel and the drawings are pretty good. I just felt that the story lacked a good ending.

The Red Shoes and Other Tales was a very good book! It was a lot of fun to read! I loved how it had a picture to go with every scene. I also loved how it had multiple stories in one book!

These tales are very captivating because they aren't like any of the books I would normally read, but I read something that was similar to "The Red Shoes".
