This book was one of the best books I have read. I really liked the characters and how their relationships grew throughout the story. Lockwood really caught my interest because he behaved like Sherlock, but younger. The Screaming Staircase was the first book of this thrilling series, and yet I couldn't put it down! This book really sends chills down your spine but it has just enough of everything to be perfectly balanced. Not only that but there is a HUGE plot twist I didn't even see coming!!! Really, if you like thrilling mysteries or shows such as Sherlock, then I REALLY would read this book. 5 stars fr sure!

This book was so creepy yet so amazing! I loved every second of it. I literally could not put it down. I stayed up late many days just trying to read further:D

a problem has occurred in London. There are ghosts. But they aren't the friendly type. Only young people can see and eradicate the ghosts. This story is interesting and the characters are unique, but the subject matter is not up my alley. The book was worth a read, but it is not something I would read again.

Around fifty years ago, the Problem occurred in London. Ghosts and other paranormals have appeared in England with the horrifying ability to torture and kill you. And yet the only people able to sense them and act are children and teens. Say goodbye to being a child and hello to growing up fast. A number of Psychic Agencies have appeared over the last few decades, dedicated to ridding people of the Problem. Lucy, a strong, willful and talented agent comes to London in search of a better job and a better future. But she is denied and instead finds herself accepting a job in the tiniest, most ramshackle agency there is. When their cases go horribly wrong and they run incredibly low on money, they are faced with one chance to redeem themselves: spend a night in the most haunted house in England and come out alive after ridding it of ghosts. And perhaps, for more publicity and the sake of doing good - figure out the reason behind a hidden dead body and the secret of the mansion. This is absolutely one of the best books I’ve read. Although it seems like a horror story, it is written in a way that is scary, suspenseful, witty, but light enough not to give you nightmares. One of the reasons I like it so much is because it is a good all-around story, it has the themes of family, friendship and camaraderie. It’s also got the touch of medieval English culture. I would recommend this book to everybody - it’s that great.

It's London and there's a problem - ghosts and spirits have taken over the city! It's up to Lockwood and Co., a small detective agency, to figure out what's amiss. Overall, I though this was a very good read. Lucy, (Co.) is a very well rounded character. Throughout the story you delve deep into her life, backstory, and emotions. I thought this was a book that was captivating enough to hold my attention for the entire time.

In London, only youth can see ghosts and other apparitions which at the time London is overrun with many ghost and poltergeists creating havoc. There are many ghost hunting services but one in particular stands out, Lockwood & Co, because they have no adult supervision. This book is about a young girl, Lucy, and her cases with other ghost hunters. It tells of her tragic past and how she joins Lockwood & Co, Where she meets Anthony Lockwood and George Cubbins. They get a case that seems simple enough but turns into a fire and a murder investigation. They have to decode some letters and numerals to solve the case but at the same time they are shot a case about an extremely deadly house that consists of "The Screaming Staircase" and "The Red Room". While preparing and investigating this deadly case they find clues to who the murder of the young girl is. The deadly case is wrapped up and they find out that the one who hired them to the case was the murderer of the girl and was trying to dispose of Lockwood & Co. by covering up their deaths as a ghost attack. Then Lockwood & Co. get the publicity they needed to become a successful business as they get better and better cases.

This is a book about Lockwood and his friends that are ghost hunters ad try to find the origins of the ghost, who it was, and what kind of terrible fate they met. They are shot into a case about a staircase that screams, and they are on the road to findout about the ghosts terrible fate...
