Nine-year-old David has recently lost his mother to a freak accident, his salesman father is constantly on the road, and he is letting his anger out on his grandmother. Sarcastic and bossy 13-year-old Primrose lives with her childlike, fortuneteller mother, and a framed picture is the only evidence of the father she never knew. Despite their differences, David and Primrose forge a tight yet tumultuous friendship, eventually helping each other deal with what is missing in their lives. This powerful, quirky novel about two very complicated, damaged children has much to say about friendship, loss, and recovery.

I am in middle school and my friends and I decided to read this since my little sister recommended it... it was kind of boring and fell flat in some parts and I couldn't see the plot.

I think this is a very great book for teenagers to read. In the story we can see how David and Primrose are been naughty, angry, sadness and how do they improve. This book can teach us something that important, both from Davide or Primrose's story.

This was a good book too. It was very entertaining and reading about how a 9 year old and a 13 year old interact was breathtaking.

This book was pretty good and I enjoyed it. It's a really quick read and it took me like two days to finish it. I would probably reccomend it to everyone interested in realistic fiction like I am

I read this a couple years ago.I love Jerri Spinelli's books, but I really didn't think this was his best.It didn't really keep me entertained and it was SORT of boring.(my opinion)!,I liked the message it gave though.

i love to read this i feel like it is a good one for me.so ive seen it in school and i thought i might like it but it was out i mean come on i finally want to read a book and its out. that stinks.but whateve ill get it next time for sure.XD LOL

This book is not really that interesting. Some parts are funny but most of the book is pretty booring.

Another one of my all time favorites, "eggs" is a wonderful book. Beautifully written and somehow touches something in all of us

He spoke to the beautiful face. "Are you sleeping?" The eyes did not open. he could not decide if he wanted them to open. The humped eyelids with their glittery purple were like tiny twin eggs, bird's eggs. "Are you going to say something?" The mouth did not move. "Your dead, aren't you?" The beautiful face was still as the trees. He was not afraid.
