You are correct about the Hot dogs, but... Some say that the Ugliest dog contest was made so it would encourage people to adopt the "not so pretty" ones, so they would have a home too.Over 8 years agochocolateponyliked a comment in Two-Year-Old Peanut Crowned 'World's Ugliest Dog'.

Quite honestly, NO. I'm done with this. Absolutely DONE. First, there was the Hot Dog contest where contestants had to eat the most hot dogs in.. what was it? One hour? While people might think of it ENTERTAINING, I can think of at least 7 causes the hot dogs could have been donated to as food instead of being eaten, 60 at a time, by people who do NOT desperately need food. And now this. You are RIDICULING dogs because they were in accidents? In this case, being burnt in a fire and almost being put to sleep? We have NO RIGHT to judge animals like this, NO RIGHT at all. And I'm disgusted with how people treat animals these days - you do have to remember, we ARE animals too, right? We are abusing the power of being at the food chain - this is like "Hunchback of Notre Dame" except much less severe.. But anyway, we should not JUDGE animals. At all.Over 8 years agochocolateponyliked a comment in Two-Year-Old Peanut Crowned 'World's Ugliest Dog'.
I agree.. But apparently these dogs were well-cared for, according to this article.. but maybe they were just well-groomed so that they could be entered in the contest and have a chance at the money.. And calling any creature "ugly" is NOT acceptable, especially when it has been in an accident.Over 8 years agochocolateponyliked a comment in Two-Year-Old Peanut Crowned 'World's Ugliest Dog'.
The reason that the ugliest dog contest was made was so it would encourage people to adopt the other dogs many would call "ugly". People probably only adopt these dogs because they may just want money from the contest. It may motivate people to adopt these dogs, but truly, how many of them actually love those dogs? Is it merely for the sake of getting money? I know there are plenty out there who may have dogs not as "nice" as others and still love them, but I really think the contest is an insult to dogs. People who truly care about their dogs would want them to feel good about themselves, and entering your dog in an ugly contest is NOT love.Over 8 years ago
