The Scourge is a refreshing novel, with a unique plot and plenty of world-building. I enjoyed this book, personally, because I think stories about epidemics are very fascinating! The Scourge is a great adventure story, with a great amount of sleuthing and discovery. Something I really liked about this story was the length of the story, close to 400 pages. I found it to be the perfect length, with plenty of time to establish plot and setting but without dragging on. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the Lunar Chronicles, The Hunger Games, or enjoys dystopian fiction.Over 7 years agomaddyrocks13's book review was featured in Fablehaven Book of Imagination.
Okay, the first thing you have to know is that the Fablehaven series is, like, my favorite series ever. I was so excited to get this book; I might have danced around the house a little bit when it arrived. After the series finishing so long ago, this book was a great throwback and got me pumped up for the sequel series, Dragonwatch. This activity book was a lot of fun, it has puzzles, coloring pages, and fun little projects all themed around the Fablehaven universe. Even as an 11th grader, I really liked filling out this book. In my opinion, this book is awesome! I would definitely recommend it to anyone, all ages and genders, who's a fan of the Fablehaven series, and if you haven't read the series yet, you totally should!Over 7 years agomaddyrocks13 added a book review.

I absolutely loved the book, especially the plot. George (her real name is Georgina, but she doesn't much like that name), goes to live with her Aunt Henrietta (Also known as Chicken, by her Uncle Constantine), and Uncle Constantine, when her parents go on a hunt to find her brother. On the first night that she's there, her Uncle Constantine tells her a story of a meteor shower that lasts for seven days, and the first time this happened, the seven smartest, wisest, and kindest people were put into a group known as the Council. Their job was to restore order between the worlds, to prevent more stars from falling, and the worlds from ending. There was the Judge, Timekeeper, Innocent, Engineer, Guide, Recorder, and Unlikely. The Council has since broken apart, but must be restored before the seventh night of the upcoming meteor shower, otherwise the worlds will drown under the weight of the stars. George, with her friends, Mikal and Caleb, along with a talking map, Cavendish, must restore order and retrieve George's kidnapped aunt, and her missing uncle, before it is too late. Will they be able to do it? Or will it prove to be too hard a burden for their strong, but small team? Read the book to find out!Over 7 years agoocelot added a book review.

First off, I'd like to say that I recommend this book to everybody, even adults. The stories of these artists in this book are quite interesting, especially facts about their childhood. This book is one of the books that you can just pick up and open to any of the chapters and just start reading, and it actually makes sense, because you don't need any of the details from before that chapter. This book is good for younger kids as well, because there are many hand-drawn pictures (some of which I found to be very funny! :). I would definitely recommend this book to anybody that like biographies, history, and anybody interested in art. Definitely 5/5 stars.Almost 8 years ago
