The novel takes place surrounding the town of Swindon, England around 1998. This is where the speaker, Christopher John Francis Boone, discovers the sudden death of the neighbor’s poodle. He’s found to have a caliber of high intelligence and decides to investigate the killing of the dog. The journey of investigation gives him the opportunity to experience self-discovery. He is known from the beginning to have behavioral problems, which could be a reference to a social disorder. I believe that this creates the significance of the novel, as it shows the auditors a different perspective on life.Almost 5 years agoturtlenicole has read this book.

Ronan Boyle has just discovered that leprechauns do indeed exist and they are not very nice. After his parents are wrongly put in jail, Ronan Boyle joins the Irish Garda, a police force tasked with keeping the magical creatures in line with the humans. While on the Garda, Ronan also tries to get evidence to prove his parents are innocent. This book was okay. I wouldn't recommend it for younger grades because I think it mentions drinking too much, and some of the Irish words weren't translated so it made it a little hard to read. Besides that, the book felt fun and magical and I liked the twist on mythical creatures a lot better than any of the other books I have read.About 5 years agollpanda added a book review.
How do you become a legend? That's the question that Caitlyn Breen must answer when she moves to rural Mitchell, Vermont and finds out that her class (of 10 ) isn't happy about her replacing their most beloved peer, Paulie Fink. Paulie was something different to everybody-awesome, class clown, evil genius- but everybody agrees that Caitlyn definitely is not a good replacement. So they decide to hold a reality-show kind of competition to replace Paulie. As the judge, because she's never met him, Caitlyn struggles to learn who Paulie was but ends up learning more about herself. I really like this book, and recommend it to everyone.
