Perfectly Preserved Wooly Mammoth Scientist have been fantasizing about resurrecting pre-historic mammals for years. However it’s not that simple. Usually what happens it the DNA is not available because the mammal is just too old. Scientist have been researching about this and may have finally found a solution. However what they found might surprise you. Well-preserved specimens discovered is what scientist have found in the Artic North. Progress has been made in the last few years, including trying to piece together the mammals genetic code. How do they do that? Well by testing frozen hair and also recreating is blood using DNA found inside fossilized bones. What they lack however is at least one living cell of the mammoth. This has had no yet success. They thought this would be impossible, but found under a 100 meter of frozen land they found a recent mammoth fossil. In Yakutia in Eastern Russia is where this frozen mammal has been preserved. So well-preserved it fact it still had soft fatty tissue and bone marrow. Still the question remains if any of these perfectly intact cells are intact. A team of South Korean scientist is testing this now. Now don’t get your hopes up quite yet. Even if this team of scientist do discover the cell they still must resurrect the pre-historic animal, which is a very lengthy process. This will take a minimum of 600 days. This is what I learned in the article Perfectly Preserved Wooly Mammoth Provides Hope of Resurrecting the Mighty Mammal.Over 11 years agokreiderism added a news bookmark.
