The canal is still way too narrow and it's vulnerable to more incidents like this. The Suez canal is extremely important, yet I'm surprised as to why it hasn't been expanded. Construction on the canal would slow down traffic, but perhaps it could be widened in sections, one at a time. If 6 days costs $10 billion, imagine what would happen in a freak accident, such as a spill?? Anyway, I'm glad that it was removed but the owner must feel terrible.
