Rescue and Jessica: A Life-Changing Friendship
By Jessica Kensky, Patrick Downes
Rescue & Jessica is an amazing book that shows us how strong friendship can be. Jessica is a kid who gets lots of surgeries because her foot is not normal. She really feels like she needs a companion who could offer her support when times are tough. She chose a dog named Rescue, and they bonded together. The truth is that they both helped each other - Jessica helped by getting Rescue away from the training and Rescue helped her by offering support. It is true that a friendship could change one's life.

Fancy Nancy: Pajama Day (I Can Read Level 1)
By Jane O'Connor
I wanted to read this book because my friend likes this book and i like it too. In the book, it is pajama day and Fancy Nancy's two friends have the same pajamas. Fancy Nancy was sad because she felt excluded. In the end, they all had the same pajamas. It was a good book.
East
By Edith Pattou
In this rendition of the folktale, East of the Sun and West of the Moon, this book tells the story of Rose, a girl born as a Northern child in a family of Eastern homebodies. Rose's mother tries to hide that Rose was actually born as an adventurer, but when an enourmous white bear shows up at Rose's families' cottage, the secret begins to unravel. Rose ventures on a journey tot he land of the north with the white bear as her best companion. This is such an amazing book, barely words can describe it. I throughly LOVED reading it and I think all lovers of friendship, courage and adventure would love it as well!

The Moorchild (Newbery Honor Book)
By Eloise McGraw
The Moorchild by Eloise Mcgraw is a captivating story of a girl, half human and half fairy-folk who is put into a family in place of their own daughter. This books tells of Saaski's journey and her adventures as she struggles to find who she is and live among the villages who taunt, tease and are scared of her beacause she is different. The only comfort Saaski finds is playing odd tunes on her bagpipes in the moor. As Saaski grows older, the past and memories of the flok start to drift back into her mind, like dandelion flyaways, and she begins to wonder about where she came from and who she really is... This is such an amazing story filled with friendship, magic, courage, mystery and enchantment. I loved reading it and definitely recommend it to others!
Zane and the Hurricane: A Story of Katrina
By Rodman Philbrick
I completly agree with Mrs. Jagielski's comment on the book. A very emotional book. I cried a few times, like when he jumped out of the car to get Bandit, when the flood started, when Bandit almost died of heatstroke, and when Bandit got shot. But it is still an awesome book and i think that everyone should read it. BTW I love dogs thats why I cried a lot for Bandit :'(
Middle School: Save Rafe!
By James Patterson
I loved this book I would recommend this to people that like funny but almost real stories or if you like drawing Rafe is a boy living a normal life until he goes to this camp to get back in school he meets new friends and learns to work in teams and try new things and to explore life just a little deeper than you already has it gave me inspiration to make a camp for my stuffed animals to do it gives inspiration to not give and do not back up when times are tough.
The Great Shelby Holmes: Girl Detective
By Elizabeth Eulberg
The Great Sherlock Holmes- wait, did I say Sherlock? No, I meant The Great Shelby Holmes… there so analogous in personalities, I almost confused myself! Okay… maybe I’m a bit exaggerating, after all she doesn’t smoke a pipe like Sherlock, but Detective Shelby is best of the best… Did I tell you that she’s nine and is in sixth grade! Although she may be someone one would want to underestimate.. I REPEAT: Do not underestimate Detective Shelby (trust me on that one)... Meet Dr. John Hamish Watson- aww man I did it again! I meant John Watson…. Sherlock Holmes’s friend and associate… AGAIN, I got myself carried away… Anyways, John Watson is the kid who moves near Shelby’s home- sure the way I talk about him seems unimportant… but John and Shelby are the true key in order to solving a case… well… any case. The thing is Shelby never had any friends… and she would one aloof duck… but it’s would okay because she would always be engrossed in solving mysteries and pissing off incompetent detectives adults like Inspector G. Lestrade… oops I meant Detective Lestrade(except Inspector Lestrade can be more respected instead of Detective Lestrade- you’ll realize why), but it makes complete sense… Detective Lestrade is incompetent, very immature (I would have mistaken her for a nine year old instead of an adult) Anyways, Shelby shows John around the vicinity and John speculates how Shelby is a celebrity (well, sort of), everybody acknowledges her and asks if she wants something… One day when Shelby was “walking” John, Tamra— a student from The Academy— was in a dire need of help… Her show dog, Daisy, was missing! So on they go to their “perilous” journey. So as Shelby and John observes around Tamra’s opulent home, they come across Zareen and her dog and Zane. They actually come across a lot of suspects, but not that many evidence… Uh oh! Could it be Zareen because she’s jealous of Tamra and she wants all the attention.. Or could it be the dog trainer, Emerson, who was caught in a lie? Oh, could it be Tamra who did it to go to Paris with her sister? . Wait we’re not at that part yet… Anyways John feels bad because he thinks he’s using Shelby to make “actual friends” like Zane, who can “play ball” like Watson (sorry, I’m just testing out the nickname Shelby has for John which is Watson)... As they looked through the evidence and the “crime scene,” so many elements come in play which is why it’s so hard to find the culprit- but not to Shelby and John. While John was playing pickup basketball with Zane and his friends, they obtained a lead! DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNN… Could this be the breaking point and are they going to find the culprit? So this story was such a fun break from reading depressing short stories… I was completely shocked about who did it… I really liked the overall message and the content itself.. It really reminded me of Friday Barnes- a book- I REALLY RECOMMEND… And it all comes down to this: what everybody needs is a true friend. For people who enjoy solving mysteries, Sherlock Holmes, and reading about friendship, this book is for you! Hope you read this amazing, mysterious, adventurous, and suspenseful book… because it WILL keep you up! Enjoy!
