Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Vol. 1

Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Vol. 1

By Clamp

Sakura and Syaoran were originally from the series Cardcaptor Sakura, in which both were magicians vying for a certain powers, yet somehow winding up in love. In Tsubasa, their creators, the manga artist group CLAMP (my favorite btw), put a whole new spin on everything. This time, Sakura is a royal princess, who often sneaks out of the palace to visit Syaoran, her childhood friend who is an archeologist. Both love each other, but never say anything. But when a tragic accident causes Sakura to lose all of her memories, Syaoran is presented with an opportunity to get them back- at an incredible price for himself. Syaoran travels through different worlds to collect the pieces of Sakura's memory, along with an odd and somewhat aloof mage named Fai, and a decidedly brooding and high-tempered Samurai named Kurogane. As they visit different worlds, they meet different versions of the same people. A king in one world might be a sushi chef in another! Or maybe he's actually king there, too. It's so interesting to see the way the same people have developed under different conditions. They can be so different, yet so the same! It really opens your eyes to the possibilities of the world- that depending on what challenges you face and how you react to them, you can change in so many different ways. On top of that, Syaoran's character is amazingly strong-willed and awesome, but since I'm trying to keep this as a book review and not a fangirl rant, I won't go into that much right now XD. I am three books into the series and plan to read the rest soon, but based on what I have read so far, I would highly recommend this series to anyone!

Little Dead Man

Little Dead Man

By Jake Bible

THIS IS SUCH AN AMAZING BOOK!!!!! Well if your anything like me and like blood, gore, and zombies, then go checkout this book. Garret is a what he thinks an 'average' seventeen year old boy, if he knew what average was. Garret was born just as the world ended (or so he thinks). He has a hard time already fighting off the zombies, living with a mentally distressed mother, and a father that has one too many secrets. But his twin brother wont leave him alone (comes in handy sometimes). Its not like Garret can go to his room and shut the door to get away from it all, his twin brother Garth is a Zombie, and conjoined baby twin to the top of Garrett's spine. To find out more read Jake Bible's book 'The Little Dead Man'.

Defiance: Resistance Book 2

Defiance: Resistance Book 2

By Carla Jablonski

I read the first book (not listed in this website), and thought it was well portrayed. It is about a boy and girl who join the resistance against the Nazis during WW2. The one thing I didn't like was the pictures. Some of them were fine, while others were plain disturbing. Other than that, the book was good.
