Stargirl Journal
By Jerry Spinelli
Have you ever met a person that is "extra ordinary"? The main character in this book called Stargirl is one of them. She acts out weird, however, caring others and being kind makes her a really positive person. When people are laughing at her, she seems to not notice, and still has a smile on her face. She's being herself, and release all of her happiness to everyone. I should learn from her positivity, and have courage to others. If I am one of her classmates, I'll definitely stop the bullies, and be an upstander!

Heaven Is Paved with Oreos
By Catherine Gilbert Murdock
Heaven Is Paved With Oreos by Catherine Gilbert Murdock follows 14 year old Sarah Zorn as she goes on a trip to Rome. Rome is QUITE different from her hometown, Wisconsin, and she's away from her best friend "boyfriend" Curtis and her family. Sarah's in Rome with her Grandma Z, who's an adventure all on her own. Sometimes Sarah can't help but wonder what her Grandma is hiding.... This book is good for you if you like romance or tween novels. I enjoyed reading it and thought it was a very cute story. The only problem with this book, for me, was the writing style. Sarah's 14, yet the way she writes makes it seems like she's younger, 10 or 11. This gets a bit frustrating in some points. Check it out! :)
The Whispering House
By Rebecca Wade
Our class is loving this book: It's suspense, its unfolding drama, its utter creepiness. When I read it on the carpet the other day, the kids got so scared they gathered around closer to my feet for comfort!

The Siren Song (Cronus Chronicles, Book Two)
By Anne Ursu
Some people say sequels aren't as good as the original, however the second book of the Cronus Chronicles is proof that this saying isn't always right. This book is insanely charming, starring a colorful and lovable cast of characters. Displaying interesting and hilarious takes on famous figures of Greek mythology. In this book, the role of antagonist is split between three different characters, yet all of them are still fabulously twisted. This is the only book that had me list Narrator as one of my favorite characters. The Narrator seems to morph his/her beliefs depending on which character he/she is narrating. This style definitely richens the story because the Narrator explains the antagonists or protagonists way of thinking, which can be hilariously mislead or cunning. The author has an amazing talent to write both comedy and action well, all while keeping it appropriate. If yo want to skip out a sequel, don't let it be this one!
