Tell Tale Heart

Tell Tale Heart

By Edgar Allan Poe

A man whom must be mad knows an old man. The man does not hate the old man, he doesn't want the old man's gold, but the old man has a pale-blue eye with a film over it the reminds the man of a vultures eye, it drives him crazy. For eight days the man watched the old man sleep until he finally decided the old man was to die. The man plans everything carefully and precisely, there is no trace of a murder anywhere - as he ishas placed the body under the floorboards. so when the police arrive after reports of hearing a yell. The man knows there is no way anyone will find out so he invites the police in to look around - even setting chairs up in the old man's room to chat with them. All of a sudden the man starts hearing a dull thumping noises coming from under the floor. It drives him mad that finally he admits the he murdered the old man. This was a very short book and it was kinda frightening. The lesson in this story is the guilt of doing something terrible will come back and haunt you. The Name of the Star (The Shades of London)

The Name of the Star (The Shades of London)

By Maureen Johnson

Honestly, this book was great, but it violent and slightly disturbing. It got weird at the part where the person fixed the video feed and replayed the history. It showed the victim getting chased by an invisible person and being slashed to death by a ghost. Alright, now to the plot: Rory arrived at a boarding school in England the same day that the Jack the Ripper reenactments started. Rory almost chokes to death and then she can see ghosts. The new serial killer turns out to be a ghost. She sees him one night before he murders someone and then she becomes his next target. A ghost kills him with a weapon that destroys them both right before he kills her. The end :/

The Saturdays (Melendy Quartet)

The Saturdays (Melendy Quartet)

By Elizabeth Enright

It's a story about four kids, a father, and a house keeper named Cuffy. They come up with an idea where they can all put their allowences together and do anything they want to do alone. Rush comes home with a dog, that they call I.S.A.A.C. after their idea - Independent Saturday Afternoon Adventure Club. Randy meets a lady who got kidnapped by Fortune tellers. Mona comes home with bright red nails and a haircut. Oliver though, only 6, was thought to be so young, and small. The family wasn't sure if he could go all alone. But Oliver himself had other plans, going to the circus and taking a ride on a horse and carriage. This was an excellent book and I hope you read it. I also hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
