A hilarious Southern debut with the kind of characters you meet once in a lifetime

Rising sixth grader Miss Moses LoBeau lives in the small town of Tupelo Landing, NC, where everyone's business is fair game and no secret is sacred. She washed ashore in a hurricane eleven years ago, and she's been making waves ever since. Although Mo hopes someday to find her "upstream mother," she's found a home with the Colonel--a café owner with a forgotten past of his own--and Miss Lana, the fabulous café hostess. She will protect those she loves with every bit of her strong will and tough attitude. So when a lawman comes to town asking about a murder, Mo and her best friend, Dale Earnhardt Johnson III, set out to uncover the truth in hopes of saving the only family Mo has ever known.

Full of wisdom, humor, and grit, this timeless yarn will melt the heart of even the sternest Yankee.

Theis book is amazing and I loved it!!! Mo is 11 years old, but 11 years ago she washed ashore during a flood. She and her best friend, Dale, must solve a murder and other adventures, all the while Mo is trying to find her unknown mother.

It’s AWESOME!!!!!Very emotional story. About a girl who got 3 times lucky and 1 got in a hurricane 2 got saved by a old man 3 is still alive today.

Im reading it right now. It is pretty cool so far! I'm flabbergasted there are so many great books I heard of, but I thought that looked boring (sometimes I judge a book by its cover lol). But I am enjoying this book so far.

This book was super sweet and I loved the writer's style. It was a mix of every genre, with some realistic fiction, adventure, and just a bit of everyday life.
