She washed ashore in a hurricane eleven years ago, and she's been making waves ever since. Although Mo hopes someday to find her "upstream mother," she's found a home with the Colonel--a café owner with a forgotten past of his own--and Miss Lana, the fabulous café hostess. She will protect those she loves with every bit of her strong will and tough attitude. So when a lawman comes to town asking about a murder, Mo and her best friend, Dale Earnhardt Johnson III, set out to uncover the truth in hopes of saving the only family Mo has ever known.

Full of wisdom, humor, and grit, this timeless yarn will melt the heart of even the sternest Yankee.

Three times lucky is a great book. I like that it is a mystery. I like the way the author describes the characters. I recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries.

Three Times Lucky is about Mo summer was awesome and then everything turn around. Many bad things happen there was a murder then a car crash. When I was reading this book it was very detailed and I think the beginning was very weird but I like how it turns around sudden in the beginning!

This book illustrates the life of an eleven-year-old girl named Mo who was 'adopted' (her mother put her on a raft during a hurricane and sent her out to sea, and she was found) on the day she was born. Ever since she was born she has been trying to solve the mystery of who her real mother is and why she never came back for her. However, she still lives a normal life in a small town called Tupelo Landing in North Carolina. She lives with the Colonel, a great cafe owner, and the loving and caring cafe hostess Miss Lana. One day, a detective comes to town for a visit and tells everyone about a murder. Then Mr. Jesse is found dead. Someone's been kidnapped. Tupelo Landing has gone nuts! Mo and her best friend Dale try to solve the mystery. Whodunnit? I recommend this book to anyone who loves mysteries.

If three words could describe this book they would be: suspenseful, mysterious, and amazing. Sheila Turnage has out done herself with this amazing book. It is a mystery so big that even I didn't see the answer coming. I would have never expected in my life that....Well, you get the point. Such an amazing book.

Once I started reading this book, I had a hard time putting it down. Sheila Turnage tells the unique and funny story of Moses (Mo) LoBeau, an 11-year-old detective. When the news of a local murder case comes, everyone in town is dying to know who the killer is. It's Detective Joe Starr's job to found out, but curious Mo and her best friend Dale tag along. Throughout the case, Mo's fake parents, Colonel and Miss Lana, go missing. At the same time, Mo has another mystery to solve - her own. If you enjoy suspenseful (and hilarious) books, you don't want to miss "Three Times Lucky"!
