Every year in Quill, thirteen-year-olds are sorted into categories: the strong, intelligent Wanteds go to university, and the artistic Unwanteds are sent to their deaths

Thirteen-year-old Alex tries his hardest to be stoic when his fate is announced as Unwanted, even while leaving behind his twin, Aaron, a Wanted. Upon arrival at the destination where he expected to be eliminated, however, Alex discovers a stunning secret--behind the mirage of the "death farm" there is instead a place called Artime.

In Artime, each child is taught to cultivate their creative abilities and learn how to use them magically, weaving spells through paintbrushes and musical instruments. Everything Alex has ever known changes before his eyes, and it's a wondrous transformation.

But it's a rare, unique occurence for twins to be separated between Wanted and Unwanted, and as Alex and Aaron's bond stretches across their separation, a threat arises for the survival of Artime that will pit brother against brother in an ultimate, magical battle.

the unwanted is a really good book with mystery and tears, if you read other reviews you'll understand why. I don't write about what's in the book but I do write about the book.

I met the author of this book and she is so nice, the book is amazing so far

So amazing! I met the author and she was so nice! I hope everyone takes the time to read the series!

this book i cant get over its soooo good. It has magic, and really coll animals. I cant read the next chapter. :)

This book is really good. When you become 13 you become a wanted necessary or an unwanted. Creativity is illegal so if you get reported for doing something creative you are an unwanted. Unwanteds are supposed to get killed but they are actually sent to a secret world called Artime

This book is so good. In Quill when you are 13 (12 for 1 girl) you become a wanted a necessary or an Unwanted. If you break the law, which is creativity, you become a unwanted. Alex got chosen as an Unwanted because one day in quill it was raining and alex and aaron were bringing out scraps. Alex started drawing in the mud and told Aaron to do it too. When Aaron started drawing in the mud their dad came out and got the twins mixed up and that is how he became an unwanted. If you became an unwanted they were supposed to kill you but they really there was a secret world called artime where there is creativity. Alex finds Aaron and trys to bring him to artime but fails and reveals that artime exists and the it is in trouble.

I'm reading the book the unwanteds by Lisa McMann. It is a really good book when you are 13 you will get sorted. There is the wanteds that go to a university, the neccesaries. Then there is the unwanteds and they get put to there death. It is a really good book. If you want to find out more read the book the unwanteds by Lisa McMann.

In Quill when you are 13 you become wanted or unwanted.Creativity is illegal but when Alex becomes unwanted he is brought to a magic place where what he did can be used in many ways. But when Alex wants to bring his brother he risks his life and as well as years of others. But go back and think for a second.Who told about Alex?Is there really a way back? Also, did all this happen because he drew in sand?

in the town of quill at age 13 you are either a wanted an unwanted or a necessary if you are a wanted you go to the university if you are a necessary you become a farmer or grave digger and if you are a unwanted you are eliminated or are you this old man saves you and brings you to artime i won't spoil the rest

This was a so so so so so bad book do not read it

I am so so so so so so sorry you feel that way. You must not understand the creativity and magic in the book. You must be a logic and science person, I guess that's okay. Whatever you do, don't judge a book by it's cover!
