Every year in Quill, thirteen-year-olds are sorted into categories: the strong, intelligent Wanteds go to university, and the artistic Unwanteds are sent to their deaths

Thirteen-year-old Alex tries his hardest to be stoic when his fate is announced as Unwanted, even while leaving behind his twin, Aaron, a Wanted. Upon arrival at the destination where he expected to be eliminated, however, Alex discovers a stunning secret--behind the mirage of the "death farm" there is instead a place called Artime.

In Artime, each child is taught to cultivate their creative abilities and learn how to use them magically, weaving spells through paintbrushes and musical instruments. Everything Alex has ever known changes before his eyes, and it's a wondrous transformation.

But it's a rare, unique occurence for twins to be separated between Wanted and Unwanted, and as Alex and Aaron's bond stretches across their separation, a threat arises for the survival of Artime that will pit brother against brother in an ultimate, magical battle.

The Unwanteds is an awesome book and so are the rest of the books in the series. Its has magic and fantasy and I enjoyed it. A boy named Alex and his twin brother Aaron live on an island. The leader does this categorizing where at the age 13 your put into a specific group. The Wanteds , the Necceseries, and the Unwanteds. The Unwanteds are 13 year olds that have been seen being creative. So they are sent to death, but they aren't really sent to death but to another side of the island where they could be as creative as they want. Its a great book and I cant wait for the next series.

When I read this book I thought that they could not kill the main character , especially if it was a series, so I thought that maybe they would make a way for them to survive.

The Unwanteds is an interesting book just because the plot is very creative. It was really engaging and never bores you because of the action.

I really liked this book it was amazing. But when i heard that when 13 year old's are unwanted they are sent to death and that was really sad

This book was great.I loved the creativity and the imagination that goes into this book. It is basically about to boys who one has great artistic abilities while the other is strong and intelligent.Alex the artistic one goes to the unwanteds. While Aaron goes to the wanted.I recommend.

i didnt like this book. i couldnt get into the story and seemed to just take forever. the creatures in this book seemed like they couldnt be real and it was boring

I love the creativity and imagination. It shows that talents should be appreciated not oppressed. Art, music, and any other artistic outlet should be celebrated!

This book is fantasy and adventure. It was a very engaging and interesting book. My favorite part of the book was the beginning when they got sorted into the unwanteds, wanteds, and the necessaries.

This book is a fantasy book filled with adventure. This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. This book is about a teenage boy named Alex Stowe. He has a twin brother who is evil. When Alex is sent to his death, he is actually met with surprise. Beyond the pot of boiling water is a magical land named Artime. This book is awesome and I totally recommend reading the whole series.

This book is a 3 star because it is kind of like the fablehaven book i read a while ago:it was boring and exciti ng at the end and i totally get it because both of the series are by brandon mull
