Every year in Quill, thirteen-year-olds are sorted into categories: the strong, intelligent Wanteds go to university, and the artistic Unwanteds are sent to their deaths

Thirteen-year-old Alex tries his hardest to be stoic when his fate is announced as Unwanted, even while leaving behind his twin, Aaron, a Wanted. Upon arrival at the destination where he expected to be eliminated, however, Alex discovers a stunning secret--behind the mirage of the "death farm" there is instead a place called Artime.

In Artime, each child is taught to cultivate their creative abilities and learn how to use them magically, weaving spells through paintbrushes and musical instruments. Everything Alex has ever known changes before his eyes, and it's a wondrous transformation.

But it's a rare, unique occurence for twins to be separated between Wanted and Unwanted, and as Alex and Aaron's bond stretches across their separation, a threat arises for the survival of Artime that will pit brother against brother in an ultimate, magical battle.

I read the book Unwanteds: Dragon Quests before. I literally picked through every little detail of the Dragon Quests book. As I traced through this book, I started liking fantasy writing and I developed a sense of historical fiction.

This book was VERY good! It's about a boy who lives in a Utopian Society and is separated from his family. He is sent to the part of the island no one wants to go to-the place where anyone who shows creativity, smarts, or any unwanted talents are sent to be killed. But what he discovers and does may get him-and everyone he knows and loves-into danger.

The Unwanteds is a really good book. It shows some magic and is a thriller. When 13 year old Alex gets chosen an unwanted, he doesn't meet his downfall/death, instead meets a fascinating place like Hogwarts. This book is a lot like Harry Potter, my favorite series.

This book was written very well. I think everyone who loves the Warriors series (like me) or the Spirit Animals series would enjoy this book.

This book was very well written and talked about the story of a character in a fictitious world. the book talks of brothers, fantasy, adventure, danger, and best of all, magic!

Great book! If you are into fantasy, this is a great series to read. Great characters and story line. I love the way the author mixes art and magic.

It is a cliff-hanger that you would not want to stop reading. I will not spoil it, but the best part is the middle (to me).

This. Book. Is. EPIC! Lisa McMann has written my personal heaven. The Unwanteds is about a group of 13-year-olds who have been "eliminated" from the city of Quill. They go to get executed BUT instead find themselves in a magical world called Artime filled with more than they can ever dream of! I highly recommend this book to anybody who likes Harry Potter + The Hunger Games! -1513

I definitely recommend you guys to read this awesome book. You will fall in love with the characters, suspense, and romance in this book! I know that you will love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann and I recommend you people to read it. I would want you to read it because it's exciting, adventurous, but also interesting, and like your going to be amazed after you read the book. One thing that you should be exited is that there's magic! Like who doesn't like magic? A character that is adventurous is Alex because he's always been so curious about things. One interesting part is when each one of a person has there own creative part. The is about these characters who have creativity inside them but this character called High priest Justine that doesn't allow that and those characters are called, Alex, Lani, Megan, and Samhed. Also there are three categories that are called the Unwanteds, the Necessary's, and the Wanteds. After reading this I've felt pretty amazed!
