The Deep End is filled with Jeff Kinney's trademark slapstick humor. This time, Greg and his family are camping out in their Gramma's basement after the "house renovation incident." But camping out is taken to a whole new level when Greg's mom gets the idea of using Uncle Gary's camping trailer to drive to and explore new places. After weeks of being cooped up in a sweaty, damp basement, Greg and his brothers are up for anything; but, once again, the vacation doesn't go the picturesque way their mom expected it to. To be quite honest, the whole "vacation-gone-wrong" idea is getting a little old, but this book was still humorous and entertaining to read. A solid 4/5 stars.

So, Greg and his fam are stuck in their gramma's basement. read wrecking ball to find out why. anyways, when they just are about to tear each other limb from limb, Gammie tells Frank, (dad) to move Gary's (Uncle Gary) camper. the Heffley's decide to take the van on a road trip so that they can get out of the house. But, wherever they go, disaster follows. Fish Hatchets, an angry farmer, a pack of watermelon throwing teens, and a kid named Juice Box. will the Heffley's get the vacation of their dreams? Or will their vacation end like it did in The Getaway.
