Since his mother’s death six years ago, Carter Kane has been living out of a suitcase, traveling the globe with his father, the brilliant Egyptologist Dr. Julius Kane. But while Carter’s been homeschooled, his younger sister, Sadie, has been living with their grandparents in London. Sadie has just what Carter wants — school friends and a chance at a “normal” life. But Carter has just what Sadie longs for—time with their father. After six years of living apart, the siblings have almost nothing in common. Until now.

On Christmas Eve, Sadie and Carter are reunited when their father brings them to the British Museum, with a promise that he’s going to “make things right.” But all does not go according to plan: Carter and Sadie watch as Julius summons a mysterious figure, who quickly banishes their father and causes a fiery explosion.

Soon Carter and Sadie discover that the gods of Ancient Egypt are waking, and the worst of them—Set—has a frightening scheme. To save their father, they must embark on a dangerous journey—a quest that brings them ever closer to the truth about their family and its links to the House of Life, a secret order that has existed since the time of the pharaohs.

I am reading The Red Pyramid and I think it is the best book ever! Rick Riordan is really such a good author. I might do a book review on it for school. I've never really been into books with magic in them or anything, except for the Harry Potter series. When I started reading The Red Pyramid then I knew that this would be one of my favorite books. Plus it helps me learn about Egyptian Mythology. It's great!

this is like the best book ever i tottaly adore it so much adventure greekology egypion stuff and comedy

I read the Percy Jackson series and really liked it, so I really wanted to try this series. At first I wasnt sure about how I felt about the whole Egyptian Mythology thing, since I had had an interest in Greek mythology even before reading Percy Jackson but never really cared about Egyptian Mythology, but it really interested me! I like the way the gods work with the humans in this one unlike in Greek mythology, but i still think I like the Percy jackson series just a little bit better.

this is like percy jackson, except it's not.... almost, except it's egyptian style, with like only 3 kids... but it's still amazing, and it's a really good book if you like percy jackson

this book is about a brother and sister train and are godlings they fight an evil god Set the have clues along the way and go through a lot of trouble

This book is amazing! The British girl that never fit in, and the american boy that went everywhere. Brother and sister soon find out that there decindents of a pharaoh. Realizing they have magical powers there fathers friend, who is missing, comes and takes them, in. Will they be able to save their father?

Real suspense is spread throughout the story and it makes you want to know what happens next. You will also be rooting for the gods all the way (except for maybe Set).

i read this book because it is by my favorite author. he writes all of my favorite books. he writes about my favorite ancient civilizations: egypt, greece, and rome.i love it! this book is so detailed. it feels like you are actually there. it is a great book over all.

WOAH! its like the percy jackson series except this time its magic instead of powers(?) and egyptian gods instead of greek gods. love love love this series. sooo good. cant wait for the second
