3/11/13 This is one of my all time favorites. It is the second book after The Giver. It is about a boy called Mattie who lives in a village where everyone is safe and well. He lives with a old blind man called Seer. Mattie is noticing something different though, some people are acting strange, they don't want new people to live there. Mattie has a secret power, he can heal things. He heals 2 dogs and a frog. The Village is closing. He is sent on a mission to post flyers that state that. As he goes through the treacherous Forest, he gets his friend Kira the Seer's daughter. As they go back, they get stuck in Forest. Then Mattie makes the ultimate sacrifice. He uses his power to heal everybody and because of that, he dies. It is a sad but good story.
