In The Hindenburg Disaster young Hugo along with his parents and younger sister are traveling on one of the most famous and expensive type of transportation-zeppelins. As exciting as it is to travel through the air, their trip is less than enthusiastic. The reason is that Gertie, Hugo's younger sister, had come down with a terrible case of Malaria, and the family was rushing her to New York City with the hope of curing her. But then things start to go wrong on the trip. A small group of Nazis are on board, rumored to be looking for an American spy. But Hugo knows who the spy is! Then Gertie gets a dangerous fever. Will she make it? Will they reach New York City in time? Will the Hindenburg still stay the safest type of travel? I recommend this book to "I Survived" enthusiasts and people who like historical fiction and action. This book is meant for younger grades, but still has a very interesting plot line. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

If you have enjoyed other I survived books, than you will definitely love this I survived as well. This book is about how Hugo's little sister, Gertie fell ill with Malaria and Hugo and Hugo's parents have to rush Gertie to a special hospital in New York City. But the only thing that is fast enough to get gertie to the hospital in time, is a zeppelin called The Hindenburg. On their journey all the Hindenburg brings is bad luck and then a disaster occurs leaving them all in grave danger. Will things turn out all right? Or not? My favorite character is Hugo because of his kindness, and thoughtfulness. I think the message in this story is to care about others. I hope you like this book!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a book about a boy named Hugo who survived the Hindenburg disaster. Hugo's family used to live in America , but they moved to Africa for a while. While in Africa Gertie caught malaria. Hugo and his family have to go to New York because there is new medicine for Gertie there. They are to travel on the Hindenburg. The Hindenburg is full of hydrogen and one tiny spark could make the whole thing explode. Will they make it all in one piece? And will they get there in time to save Gertie? This was a pretty good book I guess but definitely not my favorite of all time.
