This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

I love the harry potter series, but I really like this one because you feel so happy for harry when he gets to do all these cool things because he has been treated so badly by his aunt and uncle. They really abuse him and he feels so alone until he gets to go to the wizard school, Hogwarts.

Welcome to one of the most famous book series of all time for all ages! If you haven't read Harry Potter before, you're sure to get into it and feel like you are part of the magical wizarding world. Written by J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is about an 11-year-old orphan named Harry Potter who lives in Great Britain with his abusive Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia, and his cousin Dudley. However, his entire life changes as soon as a letter arrives for him, specifically a letter inviting him to Hogwarts School Of Magic, a huge man named Hagrid knocks on his door, and he is whisked away to Diagon Ally in London. There, he learns all about his magical ancestry, and suddenly finds out he is famous for defeating the darkest wizard of all time, Voldemort, when a killing spell rebounded off him as a baby! Join Harry and his friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasly, as they learn about Quidditch, spells, the four different magical houses, and a secret that the headmaster, Dumbledore, has hidden in the school.

This is an awesome book that is super exciting and has lots of clif hangers and twists. I think that my favorite part of this book so when hagrid tells Harry that he is a wizard. This book is also cool that j.k Rowling came up with all of the names like Griffendor, Hufflepuff, ravenclaw, slithered, and hogwarts. I think that the series gets better and better the more you read.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE book series of ALL book series/books possible. This story begins with the sad life of Harry Potter, age 10, being bullied by his cousin Dudley and treated meanly by his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon. However, as the kind giant Reubus Hagrid told Harry, he was a wizard! His parents didn't "die in a car crash" like his aunt and uncle said. They were actually killed by Voldemort, and Harry somehow survived the evil dark magic. Join Harry as he tries to survive year 1 at Hogwarts, his school, being treated like a celebrity. <3 THIS IS THE BEST BOOK EVER, YOU WON'T REGRET READING IT!

I love this book. It's the first book in a long series about a boy who receives a mysterious letter telling him that he is a wizard and is invited to join Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. This book is one of my all-time favorites, and I highly recommend it.

This is an AMAZING book for action seekers. Harry Potter is an 11-year-old boy whose parents were killed by Lord Voldemort when Harry was only a baby. He was then sent to live with his one only relatives, the Dursleys. They treat Harry horribly. However, one day, mysterious letters addressed to Harry come, but Uncle Vernon won't let Harry read them. Whoever is sending the letters seems determined to reach out to Harry, because they keep on sending letters. One day, Hagrid, the groundskeeper at Hogwarts, barges in and tells Harry that he's a wizard. Harry then goes to Hogwarts and starts his life as a wizard. However, Lord Voldemort is still after him. Using his wits and courage, Harry must get the Sorcerer's Stone before Lord Voldemort does.
