This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

This book has always been my favourite. It is my childhood and I've read it more times than I remember. I highly, highly recommend this book.

A good book for all magic lovers. Action packed and story filled, in this book you will read about Harry's young years at the Dursley's and first year at Hogwarts. My favorite part is when Harry sticks his wand in a Mountain Troll's nose.

This is book is the story of a powerful Wizard named Harry and how he is called to action to Hogwart's-School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The story starts off with Harry living with his horrible aunt, uncle, and cousin. He goes to Hogwart's against their volition. He meets his mentor, Hagrid and his friends: Herminey Granger and Ronald Weasley. He finds out secrets like how his parents were murdered by he-who-should-not-be-named and that he is the only one who survived the attack. This book tells of Harry's journey into Wizardry. This is only the beginning.

YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK! Luna Lovegood is my fave! Ravenclaw 4 life!

Harry Potter is one of my favorite fantasy book series. All of the books are wonderful but this is where the adventure begins. I love the characters like Ron, Hagrid, Harry, Hermione and Dumbledore. The storyline is expertly written. J. K. Rowling did a good job with that. I reccomend this book to all magic and fantasy lovers. Hopefully, you will read the other books too.

The ruthless Lord Voldemort kills Lily and James Potter on halloween night, in his attempt to kill their son, Harry. Curiously, in this effort of killing a one-year-old infant, his powers seem to disappear...and it seems that he does too-- after over a decade of murdering and torturing countless innocent witches, wizards, and muggles. Nearly ten years later, Harry Potter is living in the cupboard under the stairs of his only living relatives, the Dursleys, who are so normal, readers find them to be strange. On Harry's eleventh birthday, he receives a letter...a letter given in the most peculiar way...but still a letter. A letter inviting him to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Of course, he didn't believe it at first (I mean, would you?) but when Harry saw magic being performed, he had no choice but to believe that he will no longer be living in neglect...he will spend his year in Hogwarts: a school with ghosts, cloaks, and wands. With classes like Charms, Potions, and Transfiguration. As strange as the school is, Harry suspects something particularly peculiar going on this year. And I must say, you’ll be more than surprised to find out what...and who...it is.

Hmm. What can I say about this book that hasn't already been said? Well, it's AWESOME. If you haven't read Harry Potter you are SERIOUSLY living under a rock :-P I LOVE everything HP. POTTER FOREVER!!!!!!!!!

NOPE. I CANT PROPERLY REVIEW THIS WITHOUT FANGIRLING. I CANT BELIEVE THAT I'VE WAITED THIS LONG TO READ THE HARRY POTTER SERIES. First of all, I want to thank DOGO for sending me this book. So this past week, I've been scrolling through Tumblr GIFS of Harry Potter movies, and I just thought to myself: Why haven't I read Harry Potter when about 95% of the Earth's population has? I've had the book for over a year now, and I still haven't read it yet. I absolutely love the new covers of the series, and I immediately recognized Kazu Kibuishi's artwork because I had previously read his Amulet series. I also appreciated the spine artwork, in which if you line up all the books in the series, it displays Hogwarts. This was definitely a page-turner and the characters were witty and endearing. I JUST LOVED THIS BOOK OKAY? I JUST CANT REVIEW IT WITHOUT MESSING UP. P. S. : Thank you very much to DOGO, again, for sending me this book, and I'm soooo sorry it took so long to review it. -ifeelbookish
