This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

This book is an amazing introduction to the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Suspenseful and magical, I feel like this book is perfect for people who just want to open up a nice book with a flashlight at 1:00 AM. J.K Rowling is a very good author for the 7 books of Harry Potter. Kids and adults alike must read this book. I wish I could be a witch.

This is a great book, if you like adventures I recommend you read this book. Read the book before you watch the movie because the movie is missing a few parts from the book. I loved both

This book, like all the others in the series, is ridiculously amazing. I just can't recommend this book enough! People think of it as a 'kids series' - but try reading it. This series examines love, loss, and how far people will go to save those they care about. This is the beginning of, in my opinion, the greatest series of all time.

I liked it because Harry Potter is a boring situation with his cousin Dudley. When he goes to Hogwarts he meets two friends, one named Ronald, and one named Hermione. He figures out a secret with his friends about a missing stone, but when he goes to find it, there are traps from all the teachers at Hogwarts. When he sees the mirror, there is Professor Quirrel. He tries to get the stone. Then Harry realizes that the Professor is part of Voldemort, the evil bad master.

I like this book because it has spells like locomotor mortis.'[it makes your legs locked together.] I also recommend you read this book because it also has really cool or amazing characters. It kind of is a sad story because Harry Potters mom and dad died by a person named Voldemort . I recommend this book 5 stars out of 5 stars!

At first I thought Harry Potter was a story with no magic in it. And then my mom read "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" to me and I loved it, and so does my sister. I think a lot of people should read this. I have listened to all the books on audio and watched all the movies but I haven't read all the books (they are long, that's what I know!). A lot of my classmates have only seen one or two of them and I have seen every one of them. A lot of people don't believe me, but I have, and I think you should too. It's a really good story and it has a good storyline. A lot of movies have killing for no reason, but the killing in this story has actually got a reason to it. The characters that I most like are Harry, Hermione, Ron, Hagrid, Dumbledore, and Dobby (although he is in a different book in the series). That's my review and I think everybody should read it. Goodbyyyyeeee.

This book is for the ones who love witchcraft, wizardry, and a little bit of excitement too. Harry Potter is wizard. Only, he doesn't know that. Come join the fun when Harry finds out he is a wizard!

This is a book for the ones who like adventure, fairy tale, and excitement. Harry Potter lives with his horrible aunt and uncle. One day, he finds out he is a wizard and goes to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Read to find out more!

I love this book. It is he firs book in the Harry Potter series. I won it in a book giveaway. Can't wait to read the others.

Harry Potter is a wizard. Except he doesn't know it. When he finally figures out, he is net to Hogwarts, the school for witchcraft and wizardry. Harry meets some friends, foes, and quirky teachers along the way. But somehow, he hears about a performer's stone that Voldemort is after. Will Harry stop him? Read to find out!
